Minor vocal glitches?!?!
How can you call them "minor"?!?!
He's clearly not in tune!!
(it was Beethoven's music teacher speaking to his mother )
ahah, just kidding of course, you're soooo much talented!
I'm a choir conductor, but a lot of guy sing far better than me.

The beatles revisited ... Really nice stuff here
Not much of a critic, but sounds very nice to me.

Just gave another listen. Great dynamics that get better each time. Now I'm at the point of anticipating certain parts that stand out, like waiting for the bridge to kick in, or certain clever rhymes. How many of these great tunes do you have in you? Some great singer/songwriters only have a handful of really great tunes. I can't wait to hear next month's. _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

Thanks George!
I am a bit nervous about this coming month. To whet your appetite-
Gone are my hook lines. Gone are my harmonies. Gone is my production.
It is one voice on one track. One piano on one track. One small string part on one track. Nothing repeats. Not even in a play on words.
It is quite a stretch. Did I say I am nervous?!?!

Well, now I won't be so nervous to post my March song, spoken word electro ballad. You project sounds very interesting and challenging. I do think you should keep doing various styles and challenges. Think outside the box whenever possible. That's the only way we will find out what we're capable of. _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

That's a real challenge. I was working with a guy last who could pull off a song with just vocals and acoustic guitar, because his lyrics/songs were so strong. Only a really strong shines in that format, and I am glad I don't have to go there any time soon Good luck, if any one here can pull that off, you can !

Thank all for the vote of confidence.
I have dropped the vocal now...about my 10-12th run with it. The hard part is that I think for continuity it has to be done in one solid take...not piece-goods together.
Sadly, I think I wrote a song beyond my means. Oh well, in a few days, I will let you guys be the judge.
I am starting to work on the dynamics of it, and consider which piano track works best with the vocal.

Not to purposefully bump this topic up and confuse anyone...but I have uploaded what I believe to be the final version of this song to Soundclick. Here is the link in case you wish to hear or download the final.
I have fixed the last few backing vocal parts that seemed out of tune and have gotten the guitar tone that I wanted for the solo.

Thanks for listening.

Listening now. I'm not sure what's evidently different, as it's been a few weeks since I heard this last. But it does sound polished and spot on. That guitar solo does seem to sit very well now. I love it this way, also there's one chord change toward the end of the guitar solos that is very exciting, it sounds like a total key change but it's probably one of those tricks that suggests a key change but is just there to provide an extra dramatic element. This is such a great song. I hope many people get to enjoy this piece. I'm all about getting my songs heard now. I've tried to limited extent, selling songs over the internet, and this time around I'm going to be offering much more free downloads as at least I'll be on more Ipods and better heard. Maybe if I do get a hit at that point, then perhaps thousands will be somewhat familiar with my brand of pop. I wish you all the luck with this for sure. (By the way, I did an update to my Mines of Mars, too, but people were posting their own tunes at the end of Feb so I dont' think anyone listened. But I took your advice and redid the effects in the chorus, I ended up with a delay that I think does bring a vocal contrast to the rest.) _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

Thanks, and going to give Mars a listen in a moment.
I agree with getting the music heard. That is partially why I offered my music here, including the thus far one free complete CD, because that is all that really matters. Money has never motivated me. Why should it start to?
