This seems to be a somewhat common problem: Windows XP Korg midi driver for KP3 isn't working. Tried repeated installs/uninstalls, as well as different driver versions (new and from supplied CD) but nothing works. The PC recognizes the KP3 but the device isn't installed correctly as midi device. Neither KP3 editor sees the KP3 nor does sequencer software recognize the KP3 as midi device.

I tried things suggested in a few threads here but nothing works. Not sure how to turn off USB mode on the KP3 though. Hitting shift+pad7 doesn't really seem to give any options. Enabling sysex didn't help either.

I'd very much like to get the KP3 midi driver to work, as otherwise I'd have to return the Kaoss Pad as defective, which I'd like to avoid.

Any help getting the drivers to work is appreciated!
Thanks,
RP

I had the same issue and we're talking about it doesn't work in the KPEditor? And you have multiple usb devices connected as well.

So I fixed it by:
Unplug all usb devices as well as the kaoss pad.

Go to the korg driver uninstaller and check the box that will let you uninstall other drivers.

Note, that (hopefully) the Kaoss pad IS NOT midi device number 1 (if not then great!)

uninstall midi device 1 and the Kaoss pad driver.

Finish the wizard.

Plug the Kaoss pad back in and install. It should put the kaoss pad midi dvice at device number 1.

Start editor, cross fingers... It should work.
