Hi!
If you run a lot, why don't you consider to buy in-ear headphones?
In-ear would isolate you from external sounds, so you can listen at lower volume; it should be a problem if you go out running, because you don't ear outside warning signals, and so on...
BTW, Bose is making good products, worth a check for sure.

Yes, of course, that's why I suggested in-ear and Bose...
In-Ear are generally listened using much lower volumes (considering that is used at high sound pressure levels they are catastrophic for ears).
Bose gear have got a good quality, and it's prooved that good quality causes less demages...
BTW, once again, pay attention to your ears, never use high volumes, especially with hearphones!

Hey, I got an Insignia mp3 and its pretty frigin loud. Also a Zen Nano Plus has pretty decent volume.
Thanks Diego, I was only meaning in-ear phones. A funny picture of some one running down the street with big outside ear phones!
I'll check out Bose but for now I'd lyk to keep my arms and legs!

I agree
Use Bose or Koss for this kind of work...Senn won't stay I know..and the newer brands have good specs, but not close listening generally...I use ancient Koss electrostatics at medium volume for big cup and have bose in-ear ,,which are VERY low vol. ultra high ef...as well as jus' plain Koss Pro4AAAT.. also good, BUT uncomfortable...
try them you will like them...
