After much divide and conquer I have isolated and determined I am getting a crackling sound out of the left channel of my TC.

Before I go sticking anything different into a hole that is used to one thing I thought I would inquire to see if others here have had the same issue and if so, the best remedy.

It seems to me it is either dirty and needs some contact cleaner applied to a 1/4" plug pre-insertion OR the contact plate inside has been stretched over time and needs to be squeezed back, meaning I may have to open her up.

Yes I know I can route through the other outputs but I'd just assume fix this.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Marc

How does the jack feel when you push the plug in? Sloopy? Then it's the Jack itself.
If it seems snug, it may be the cable, did you try reversing left, and Right?
A little Blue Shower contact cleaner sprayed on the plug could definitely help.
Good luck, I know these things can be such a royal pain!

It could also be a dry joint that just needs to be heated with a iron.

Over the years it happened to my Trinity a few times. Don't know if the output board on the Triton is the same setup as the Trinity, but if it is they are easy to locate and take out for repairs.

On the Trinity it's a separate board.

Regards.
Sharp.
