|
|
Hi Guys,
I've been searching for a free resource for waveforms to use with my ESX.
I was inspired to find a smooth waveform to mess about with on the ribbon fader by something which you all have prob seen on youtube (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=bwzTpCGLchs#Qz05v9uJbpc)
Heres the site anyway http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ (you have to sign up to access sounds tho)
Let me know what you think and if you have any tips on using the ribbon fader as smoothy as him. I aksed him what he was doing, he kindly told me:
"It is a dual sawtooth with filter about halfway, and high resonance, then I am modulating the depth of the envelope and modulation to filter cutoff. For the most part glide is set to about 18, then during the big pitch sweeps I am turning it right up then back down". |

Thanks Zalo. I'm really looking for long sustained saw's and the like, rather than loops. The Ribbon Fader works well with the filters and effects for lead sounds, but I havent found a tone (e.g sustained dual saw) which works really well yet. Like on the youtube url.
If you know of any places let us know mate. |

Yeah I like how you can see the waveform before you download and can easily preview the sound. Still looking for that perfect waveform for smooooooth ribbon lead... Maybe its my programming thats in question.. |

Sweet tip Setsonics thanks.
Moving the slider down and back up while finger is on the ribbon fader is cool also, as you mention it traverses from gated to full and can sound pretty mad with the right sound.
I'm really getting the hang of the ribbon fader using the EMX. Trying to find a wave for my ESX to get the same effect on the EMX's ribbon fader is very hard. EMX's waves are nice.
Also, sync'ing Mod Speed and adding some depth to the tail of a note sounds sweet. Little warble at the end of nice notes with a bit of glide is pure funk! |

You could also make a saw tone you want with a vst synth, and there is a shed load to choose from. _________________ .

get yourself a copy of cakewalk rapture as a demo, it will come with VERY impressive waveforms and a ton of them that you can feed your electribe. You will have to pitch them up I believe two octaves tho so they fit the esx/emx note layout. _________________
