Hi!

Well, it seems you're nearly done!

IMHO, you need a better mic: I've got 2 NT1-A and it's a great product for the price/performance ratio, but I think if you need to record professional vocals you should have to buy a better mic like akg c414, neumann U89 or TLM series...

The audio interface is ok, remember to use good quality cables, and absolutely record vocals in a controlled environment, because vocals suffer a lot on after processing if they are recorded in a bed acoustic room.

From looking at your list you are missing one thing.

A professional voice. Laughing Laughing Laughing

There is no reason why you could not achieve great sounding vocals using that equipment. I would encourage a good room with minimum reflections. I also would encourage using a noise gate with your compressor. If you have a good loud vocalist you could set it as high as -35dB and get great results.

It has always worked for me. Before I had a studio I actually hung curtains all around my room where I recorded (modified den area) which dampened the sound considerably. I also changed all my bulbs to 40W and refused to use the overhead light. This cut out a lot of noise considerably till I was able to afford a line conditioner.

I used Afghans. Laughing Just kidding. I bought cotton curtains from Walmart to be exact. Heavy stock. They were much cheaper back then...like $4 USD per panel. I think I hung about 10-12 of them.

No problem on the lights. You just want to make sure there is no hum...which eliminates fluorescents. You should be fine. Be sure to post something once you drop a track or two. Excited to hear what you might be doing.
