I love the progression of this song! Just a cool laid back piece. Fantastic use of a bass breakdown to pull your attention away briefly.

The guitar solo was very convincing, but the piano solo was just marvelous. The whole song could have been just drums, piano, and bass and think this track would have still rocked. The brass in the background was still good though.

There were times that things did not seem to sync up but that is something that could be tightened up easily...maybe between the bass and percussion (and the piano stabs).

One note, the subtle waw sound needs to come up more along with the auxiliary percussion.

I saved the worst thought for last...I think the ending was anti-climactic. What would I do differently? I don't know...but it seems like the song went and went and then just ended.

OTHER THAN THAT....this song jammed! I am listening again. Great job this month Dierenzo...Diego! Laughing Thanks for helping him with the upload Lorenzo.

I could not log on at all yesterday BTW.

You guys gonna hav to watch the partyin'''need to wait for us.. Shocked

What a great and smoothhhhh mix overall for this cool sound...has a lot of good characteristics from several genres...the feel for jazz...and a real rock sound on top at the beginning..

The piano line is spot on!! Wish the H--- I could do that....and the bass... good, but was there a little weakness in some sections??? Love the overall feel of an almost pop line at times....

I do agree w/Jon...a really sharp impacted ending w/ break sound might be better...but its fine anyway.,...When do we see this album on Amazon??? Cool Shocked

Johnny..(ellll) Very Happy

First of all, thanks a lot to Lorenzo, which has helped me with the last-day upload, I don't know hy, but I haven't been able to access the forum for the whole day yesterday!

Thanks a lot for your kind comments.
I must underline that it's not just me in that tune: I've worked on that with a collegue at the office, he's a very good piano player, but he totally dislike the mix down and arrangment process.
So, I worked on arrangments, some chord progressions, some solos, but I must say this is still at a very draft stage...this is not what I had in mind when I started the song...it still needs a lot work, too much bass, too much drums, too much of everything Wink

BTW, I must work on it ASAP, I hope I can work on it with the new M3, if it'll arrive soon Cool

I'm very jealous on the M3. I like this the way it is, it's not too much everything at all. I know how I expect my songs to sound and usually I re-do it a hundred times, maybe the first time was actually not so bad at all. I like the improv feel to this and I'm in a fun nightclub with a classy drink and some good friends conversation. In my headphones the mix sounds pretty decent and smooth. It sounds like something Stephen would love for sure. Hey, at the end, some quick funny notes would wrap this up quite nicely.

Thanks a lot George!
I love my S90ES + Trinity Rack, but it's really a pain to carry with me all that stuff.
Now I'm basically doing pop-rock music with my band, 61 keybs are enough (I hope...) and sounds of the M3 + EXB-Radias will perfectly fit a lot of different styles.
It'll be perfect for studio works, as it integrates as AU into my sequencer, it's easy to carry around...I like it's potentials, so as I'll sell the S90ES and the Trinity, I'll buy the new M3.

I agree with you George, I re-do my tunes tons of times, and in the end the very first is not that bad.
BTW, at this stage the song is not sounding as I expected, so I'm going to work on it, it's smooth but I would like it to be different.
Maybe I'm saying there is too much of everything because the style I want it to be is more minimal...We'll see the direction it'll take Wink

Ditto to George on the ending. I have listened several times through and I really like the song. I think that is why I expected something specific at the end.

Again though, great work.

Thanks a lot Jon, I appreciate your kind comment.

BTW, I want to underline it's still at a very draft stage, I want it to sound different, and what I want at most is a sense of "continuance" and "coherence", I feel it lack on a strong theme, something to cath your attention like a chorus...I must give it a better structure.

...if I keep on reading your comments, I guess I won't touch the song anymore Wink

I can see you making some minor changes to this, mostly to get the tracks "together". But like I said, this is really good. Tighten it with a good ending.

Listening again.

The groove is nice and it sounds tight too. I don't know who doing what in the piano solo, and the guitar solo but it sounds awesome. This whole thing sounds like a nice live jam sestion to me. I am totally fine with ending, actually. A better ending would be better but I am impressed already.
I love the genre. I love the talent. I would have never thought that this was two keyboardist. I would love more of this kind of stuff.
From a guy who is too busy to do a song each month, this song sound like a lot of creative work. Thanks !

Hey, I couldn't sign into Korg Forums all Tuesday night (US time) either. Now it is fine.

Ooohhhh nice groovin' man! This is my type of tune.

Yea - there are some sync. problems. The bass is pretty convincing, I can hear volume control etc. Nice wailin' guitar. But the piano really did it for me though - sounded the most authentic. The horns are a nice touch.

Oh yea - the ending just happened Sad

This tune is great - I love this style and the native instruments. I find this type of tune extremely difficult to pull off as a one man synth. band. In fact, i've essentially given up on it. At one point in time it was all my focus.

Wow - this is much different from your previous tunes in OSAM 3. Nice to hear you move around the style spectrum Smile

Cool

Ok, you all have convinced me: I'm going to do a completly new version of this, totally changing the style, leaving this one as it is.

I agree that it's sounding like a jam, in fact it's a jam, eheh!
Me and Claudio (italian for Clawd) decided to work togheter on that tune, and the final result was exactly a sort of jam...
I feel the tune is lacking a theme, and the developing of initial ideas...

I do really appreciate all you comments, these kind words are encouraging me to do better and better: the experimental side of that OSAM is the funniest musical journey I've ever had!

It's Friday evening and I just finished work and listened to this ... it was the the perfect prelude to the weekend Cool

A great performance and great production, it sounded crystal clear here.

Just to buck the trend a little, I actually liked the ending. You know how you wake up from an unfinished dream and still have those feelings/thoughts in your head, this kind of ending is like that. A more complex 'winding down' type ending would have left a different after taste.

From a purely personal point of view, I really like the additional flavours that were in your last piece that just a little something different to the more straight jazz instrumentation. Do more of that too ! Smile

Daz.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO DO Cool
Great Daz, you got me!
I'm wanting it to sound exactly that way, but as my collegue is not used to that style, I prefered to work on a standard instrumetnation at the first stage, and then re-arrange all the ideas on a totally new piece...we'll see, as always, I've got it clearly in my mind, I hope I can get out of it what I'm listening inside my head Wink
