time for something different from me this time, I can't say what kind of music it is but it's a kind of music I don't like at all but this osam I would like to experiment a lot into other music areas... As always I don't like the piece eh eh eh but this osam is really hard for me due to the lack of time so... you will be the judge.

Ok...either it is me or something is amiss.
I hear the percussion very loud. Almost inaudibly, but not quite, I hear what might be a most awesome song. Was this recorded in surround mode or something? Did the other tracks just not surface to the front?
Please check your upload...cause if the background were brought forward, this might actually be a cool track.
Otherwise...kudos for doing a cool beat.

you hear exactly what I intend to let you hear eh eh eh in the background there are 8 other audio tracks fading in and out in different piece of the "song" ... but I really "like" (as I told you I don't like this) to leave them as a background _________________ http://www.synthaddicted.com |

Well then double kudos for a very experimental process. I have never thought in my entire life of FORCING someone to listen intently to the backgrounds of my music! Genius!!!
However, I feel that it might not be as accessible of a track as it possibly COULD be had the music been the center point verses the percussion...mostly because the percussion doesn't change much.
Glad you got a song posted though! Keep it up. As the year goes by I am sure each of us will find gems in our uploads!

Hi Lorenzo...
Indeed...a clever idea...that deserves notice....I am reminded of the other end...some very sparce lines that have a protruded feel from several here, with a single background sound...it works both ways...
I found the overall mix however to be a bit hard to follow the first time through...it might have been of interest to use a bit more variation on the perc. line...The breaks however, help some in this regard..Indeed it gets quite interesting with the feel of mystery in the background at those points where you break altogether.....
Might there be a completely different track brough forward at times, to allow a bit more of this mystery to develop...??
Good overall effect...but I think it will need a bit more development..
Enjoyed it more the second time, as I better understood what to listen for.. It was real good!!!
Thanks Lorenzo...Nice idea that may well serve you!! Johnny (ellll) |

I must admit that Lorenzo is always a surprise for me: he's very very smart, and I learn a lot from you (even if he don't think the same, as he's very modest).
This track is interesting, I'm not used to this kind of music and expermintations...but the minimal style, the perfect usage of the background lines is so new.
Personally speaking, I would love to listen background lines just a few louder; and I would add some variations to the beat, but just when background lines leave space for some fill-in...
I would love to ear some filters going on and changes the sound: I love sudden breaks, but a few panned/filtered delays should do the trick.
It's going to be a great track, as always! _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic

well, I dont' know how you achieve the sonic texture of your pieces, but I do like how in my ears it sounds. No reverb to speak of, and I do like my mixes on the dry side as a rule. This isn't really nosie-gore, but is an interesting departure. I think this sort of thing should take a very long time to put together, meaning that many more ideas could be thrown in here, but very carefully, a note here, a sound effect there and continue building. Interesting. _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

thanx guys for the comments, expecially for the more critical ones; as I told you this is really an experiment due to both the fact that it isn't my kind of music at all and cos all the instruments except for the drum loop (yes, I didn't have the possibility to develop a drum track due to the lack of time, but if I'll have the time for it I'll create something original cos I don't like to use loops, preset and arpeggiators on my tracks) even if you can't hear them distinctly, are created by scratch on the virus b and the v-synth xt or at least very very tweaked. So again take it for what this piece of music is... just free experimentation and not a real track. I spent more time on this track to create the sounds than to play it and record it (I spent more time on the final mix and the mastering though).
thanx for all the feedback!

Since you DID spend some time, I think that is part of the appeal of wanting to hear the background up some. I do understand your experimentation. It sounded like a lot of fun to do.

There is no doubt Lorenzo is suoer bright. I too think the background should be up a bit in light of the sharp percusive drum loop. Where in the world did you get this idea? It just shows me that there are a million ways to give a song interest and new life. Very original to me and very kool. I am again impressed.

Wow - this is wild - cool / clever concept!! You should experiment more often
This is something I can relate to - especially of late (Deep Space thing).
You know - I love it as is - drum loop and all. There is nothing negative about using the drum loop - you use it as a strength - backbone of the tune. I can find anything to change or nit pick at.
As usual - your audio quality is clean clean clean. Did I mention that your audio is always clean.

Very nice to hear something so experimental Lorenzo.
Your sounds are, as Dr Who said very "clean" (was it three times, no four!)
Well, they are.
I specially liked the way one of the loops ended in a sort of "squeaky" sound.
Keep building on this one Lorenzo...it's very interesting and we would like to hear where you go with this.

I try not to look at the others comments first, but did this time.
Nice percussion loop, which held me for ages.
The quiet background part is good, and keeps the track together.
More new ideas for osam, and not what I was expecting!
Overall, a lovely clean production and infectious rhythm. _________________ Chordial |
