Hi music lovers, I have recently finished composing a few beats of my own and need to make them available to a professionally managed music company. The problem is that I don’t know how to go about that. Are there any sources, techniques or any other ways to go about this in a better way? |

I would start by trying to create an Internet presence through online services such as MySpace, Facebook, and maybe a few artists nooks like SoundClick. I would also scour the web to find anyone accepting CDs (rare).
The problem is that there are TONS of "beat" and "loop" makers out there and even if there were a shortage, there are TONS MORE pieces of software which make it brainless to quickly throw together anything, whether you have talent or not.
The REAL drive that is missing from the industry is when you not only can make an infectious beat, but have a highly talented artist in the front that delivers something that no one else is at the moment. When you have that, you might be close to finding someone who can "hook you up".

Ain't that the truth. It's a tough business.

I often thought about this as I do tons of my own beats for my own music, but I wouldn't know where to begin. I know that a lot of rappers and others do look for beats all the time but how to match up? _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

I think that the first step you should do is to gather a few friends of yours and test the beats on their ears…because they will be able to provide a judgment on your composition…and that too free of cost. The serious part about going on this would be getting to VmusicBook which can really help you to make it through this by giving you the necessary sources and plans to approach the management companies. |
