Sorry I have been out a lot. Can't seem to get it together.. Rolling Eyes

This is just built on some free forms and wave shaping a bit to increase a sustained almost ambient sound for October and Halloween...

Its is called: "The Ruins", and depicts an old, huge plantation home, Belle Glade, in ruins on the Mississippi River edge..

ellll, there are times when I really enjoy ambient, and this is one of them! I love your textures and open form. This feels like ruins, and could easily back a panning camera touring through them!

I do not know how much if any patch editing you might have done, but this is well put together to the point of haunting.

Great job and nice change up again for you!

Jon

Hi John!

I can hear beautiful sound scapes, there are a lot of emotions inside this tune!
And...yes, the title fits perfectly the music!
It's very interesting to hear this kind of music from you: I think you have to be very smart to porduce such ambient things...I would throw in a lot of ideas, but that's a matter of using the minimum amount of music ideas to sound compact, but not too short...

I really appreciate that!
Well done!

I love this atmosphere. It's perfect. And what a surprise to hear this. The clanking sounds add a lot.

Hi John

Very creepy indeed - especially the beginning - brought images of monsters lurking in corners.

What do you mean by "wave shaping"?

You captured the feeling of happenings and thoughts from the past lingering and floating amongst the ruins, really well.

Regards from
Dee

Wow - I am stunned elll - this is cool man - my type of ambient!

How does it feel to experiment with different styles? It sounds good to me. I think OSAM is good for you Smile

I thought it a bit on the short side - but thats very subjective. I too liked the free form as John said, and the clanking as George said. Nice fade - totally eerie - I am a huge fan of the lower freqs.

Cool

This is a very nice piece of ambient music. I'm a big fan of the ambient genre and this fits the mood perfectly.

I think it's great for mediation in that I thought of a Buddhist monk meditating on ruins, in a desert at sunset. You should do some more ambient music, I think you're very good at it!

This is very cool John, it's been looping for a while now, and I'm still hearing new parts on every listen.
Very well done, and it does covey the sadness of a ruined house.
Hope to hear some more of these from you!

Ah John, your music always takes the listener on a journey....this one took me to the swamps....everglades....crocs and such....listened without knowing the "hauntedness" theme...oh well, not that far away eh? I so enjoy the creative efforts you bring to the site!
CHEERS!
Ron.

I imagined a huge, deep, cavern, or cave, with a pool of liquid in the center, and light waves dancing on the surface.
Nicely done.

Hi Ron and Stephen...

Thanks for your kind comments....They are appreciated, which brings me to:

Me...

I am WAY...behind in like activity. It is that I have realized it is not reasonable for me to comment on the music from my friends, from a classical point of view, as much as a personal enjoyment, and the issue has left me a bit hollow, (along with time and pure laziness....)

I am going to catch up here, this week...but it will not be in relation to the intricacies of sound and rhythm choices, production, or musicianship. I will simply mention how I feel and like and experience another persons music.

"My Left Ear" , was damaged in a diving accident 30 years ago, and has worsened, so my hearing adds to this conundrum, so please know I am listening...and not always commenting very well....

My best regards!! John..(ellll) Very Happy Rolling Eyes
