I enjoy the quality of sound which comes from the speakers in the PA8OO and I am aware that external monitors Powered or other can be a personal thing.
However my external speakers(mordaunt -short) do not produce the same clear quality of the PA's.
I am a home user only and have my own music room setup with another keyboard etc . They are wired through a mixer to an amp to the speakers which results in a loss of fine quality, if you know what I mean.

I am unsure whether this is a matter for this forum, but it would be appreciated if forum members could give a view as to external speakers (at a reasonable price) which, in their opinion, can produce the same quality as the PA's

Many thanks

Keith Lawton

Keith,
I'm not sure of you budget consideration..but IMHO you can not beat Mackie montors.
I have the HR824's but now I think the newer ones are even better. Mine sound awesome!

3 nice choces:
1) HR824mk2 $649 Ea.
2) HR624mk2 $479 Ea.
3) MR8 $279 Ea.

As someone else said ...monitors are a matter of personal taste, ...in my case I find a pair of M-audio's BX5a very satisfying for my needs, and setup that happens to be very similar to yours.
Thank you

Hello,

I use a PAIR of 'Roland DS-7 Bi-Amp Digital Monitors' 60 watts each X 2nos = 120 Watts ... capable upto 24 bit sound quality... believe me... it's gorgeous...

I believe whatever you purchase now will be with you for quite some time... so go in for the digital monitors... No matter how good your keyboard / synth is... ultimately the sound comes out from the speakers / monitors only... so have the best that your budget permits...

Kind regards...

SP

Hi Keith,
I bought a pair of used Tapco S5 active monitors from Keysounds at Leicester. I paid £125. They are certainly better than the internal speakers
and when using them, the internal speakers don't cut out so you can get quite a volume from the both sets. Have a look on E-Bay, there are always hundreds of active monitors for sale ( at cheap prices ).

A big THANK YOU to all who have responded to this request.

I noted Assyriapianist's (sam) reply to abo59 and am concerned ,as I was going to ask all those who responded to write a letter to my wife explaining that if I did not aquire a pair of the speakers/monitors you suggested my the world would collapse. She could then pass it on to SANTA,

BUT Assyriapianist's (sam) reply doesn't seem to believe.

Once again many thanks and your replies were/are most helpful.

Oh by the way I am the boss in our house and don't realy need consent before I make a purchase, I think!
