Getting back into the guitar after 20 years of raising a family. Is there a place to find shortcuts for effects? such as the settings for artist ie: Nickle Back- Somebody out there. I have a 3000G, but its pretty intimidating for a guy who has been away for a while. Thanks!! |

Hey Smith,
I also have a 3000g and came here looking to swap patches. I've looked around but the 3000g doesn't seem to be a major topic.
What kind of sounds are you looking to replicate? |

There is a dedicated forum area for guitar folks here : http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=55
Also maybe you might look at the Vox website and their Tone library, because I think the Vox ToneLab LE is very similar to the AX3000G.

Found it : http://www.voxamps.com/toneroom/browse/hardware/tonelab/
Look at the ToneLab and the AX, they look very similar to me ... Vox is a Korg company
Do those Tone Room settings work with 3000G ?
I am gonna move this into the Guitar forum area. |

Thanks for your help, Daz. I also found the ToneLab site. The patch files have a .TLP suffix, the 3000g uses an AXP. Once I figure out how to put a patch in the editing program, I'll change the suffix and see if it works. |

well, it looks like the ToneLab files won't work. Guess we'll have to do it the old fashion way |

ssmith,
As for working with the 3000g, I found that reading the manual does help alot. (I know, not my thing either but art has it's price ) I sat down with it and my gear and played with it for several hours. As long as you don't push "write", you won't change any thing. If you do find a sound you like, make sure you get it stored or it will be gone. I'll be checking back in here often, so let me know how you're doing. |

Thanks for the reply! What I was hoping for were shortcuts to sounds used by popular artist; NickelBack for example. I have read the manual, but I dont I have a lot of time to experiment, I wish I did! I dont want to get into the habit of only using the presets. |

I hear ya!! I've made some head way by looking up the rig used by the artist in question and setting the board up accordingly. I don't know of anywhere to get or swap patches. The Vox users seem to be a little better organized. What song in particular do you want to reproduce. I'll see what I can come up with. |
