|

Let me start with my live setup so you know what I have available for midi slots.
I have a microKontrol going into the EMX-1 Midi IN ---> The EMX Midi Out ---> into the ESX-1 Midi In....
What I would like to do is get my micro korg to be Temp synced but have no control over any of the samples found on either electribe, basically standing independently sonically so I have another layer to manipulate.
Should I just buy a midi sync rackmount? Is it necessary? Thoughts and opinions please.
P.S. Midi and I have a love/hate relationship. Please go easy on me if this question is too simple, I have many more complicated ones if you got the time. |

Also, the microkontrol manual isn't available/working off the korg website, does anyone have a copy of the pdf? |

So you want your microKontrol to control the EMX and your microKORG to be synched but not trigger sounds?
If so then set up like this,
microKontrol -> EMX -> ESX -> microKORG
set your EMX as master, ESX as slave. Adjust your Midi Filters on the electribes (SHIFT+12) so the n has an "x", adjust the others based on how your set up works... |

Excellent thanks for the help. Can someone describe what each midi filter actually does? The manual seems a little vague. |
