Well this will work for some of the sounds... Of course you can't use the valve tube for effects. But otherwise this will work as far as you're using only the samples that are in both triton extreme and Triton classic... there are 32MB of those... I can't figure out why they wouldn't work in both machines if you follow the restrictions that I just mentioned.

I would say you are hosed for most combis

for some programs you have a chance but your FX routing will be initially mixed up

Hi,

Not sure that the Triton Extreme sounds will work on a Classic.

I've tried to load some Triton Extreme .pcg files in my Triton Classic but file format was not recognized.

Maybe there is a software converter available...

Cheers,

You don't need any software convertor!

I suspect you've tried to load a full PCG set from the Extreme into the classic.
The Classic's Internal memory PCG File is about 849 Kilobytes,as it only has banks A-D(512 Patches For programs and Combis),and this will fit onto a 1.44 Mb floppy disk, the Extreme uses CF,because its internal memory is larger,as it has Banks A-N,over 1500 patch locations

The Triton extreme's internal PCG memory is a couple of megabytes as it has many more banks of programs and combis,if you try and load the whole of the Extremes PCG banks into the classic it cannot accomodate them, hence why it probably didn't recognise the file

If you try and load a bank at a time,it will work.

Trust me,I have both keyboards and a Rack and the sound data is totally interchangable,(except for the Extreme has more PCM sounds and more patch locations,)
