Hey everybody, (1st cry for help from me)

Here's what is happening: I start a new song. Everything is okay while I use the Oasys sequencer with the Oasys sounds. Then I try to record some audio tracks. Funny thing is...it works. Weird huh? No. It does just what it is supposed to...UNTIL: I record an audio track somewhere in the middle of the song. Whether I "punch in" or just advance manually here is what I get- I record the audio and then play it back from my "punch in" point. There, the new audio track is. But then when I play the whole song from the beginning the audio is gone. (But not every dang time!! Just a lot of the time!!) Here is where it is really quirky: I press PLAY from the beginning of the song and the audio is missing where I had previously recorded it. But if I stop the sequencer and then resume it from that same location the audio is restored. Somebody, please help.

I would seriously appreciate some help with this. And I have to add this one gripe: I know Korg support is busy but I sure as hell wish they would not take my name and number and promise to call me back and then NEVER call me back. REPEATEDLY!!! Just say it in an honest way, "No David, we wont be calling you back. We don't care that you own mostly Korg gear--all purchased new. We already have your money and don't need to talk to you about the Korg equipment you work so hard to save up and buy. Just be happy that you even got to hear us say HELLO on the phone. Bye bye now."

For the first time in my life as a musician I am b!t**ing about Korg. Sorry about the rant but I spent $8500.00 on my Oasys (plus I baught ALL of the upgrades) and recently bought an M3 76 w/Radias and I have a slew of other Korg gear and I NEVER bother them until now and after many attempts to reach the "Oasys specialist" and never get a return call I am beside myself. I love their gear and hate the people behind it. (Hate is a pretty strong word. I don't really hate them. Nevermind- yes I do.)

Thanks in advance for the help and best wishes to all. Very Happy

Hello David,
Although I have never experienced this exact problem...I have experience multiple problems concerning the Vocal tracks in my O. Sometimes they just disappear completely without coming back at all...etc
Korg has really worked well with me on this to the point of completely exchanging my old O for a new one.
Please do not say you hate them. I think it is because they are still very busy from Namm. All the times I have called I have been connected to a specialist.
Really I do apologize for the trouble and Korg not answering.

Just wondering, is this problem with all Audio Tracks? have you tried all 16?
good luck ( from another David! Very Happy )

Hi there David,

Thanks for the reply. I have not tried every (all 16) audio tracks but probably 1/2 of them. This problem is not consistent. It's just there. And yes, it has reared it ugly head in other audio tracks (besides tracks 11 and 12 which Iis my current problem).

I have a sneaky suspicion that I am doing something wrong, not the Oasys malfunctioning. It has only happened when I jump into the middle of a song and start my audio from there. But it just doesn't do it every time! And remember what I posted before... The new audio track is missing usually when I play the song from the beginning but returns when I start the song in the middle or wherever I performed my "punch-in" at.
By the way, I have searched the online manuals for this problem. Nada.

I will say that I am pretty impressed at Korg for replacing your O. With that in mind I have modified my "hate" to "strong dislike and scowling"!

And yes I'm smiling and still in love with my naughty O88.

David

Hey David,

I will definately keep the group informed of what happens as I resolve this little problem...alone, apparently. Wink

Let's just not hold our breaths waiting for Korg to return a phone call as promised or we are likely to all suffocate. Okay, I have bashed them quite enough. And they have more than deserved it!

Final note, I have been working on this all night and morning and have not had a repeat of the problem. (Fingers crossed)

Thanks,
David

Hey David...we have to many Davids on this thread! Laughing I would try it on the other tracks just to make sure its not messed up with just some tracks.
I usually have problems in Vocal tracks when I do plenty of Cutting and Pasting..etc
Also make sure that when you do Audio Tracks you have plenty of free work space. Cause sometimes if you have a lot of Songs in one Sequencer than it can really screw things up.

Thank you for changing the I hate them thing! Very Happy lol scowling! hehe

damn you got waaaay to much gear...its no fair! Very Happy you should share some!

Yep, I have suffered problems sometimes too when using a lot of cutting and paste operations, something I do frequently, but I think David points out to another kind of issue.

Hello.
I have an OASYS from 2006.
I´ve always used the midi tracks, and some months ago I recorded 6 audio tracks. When I finished I listened to the song and some audio tracks disapeared. Not always. Embarassed

What's happened?
I have the 1.3 O.S.

Thanks in advance.

Hi SirRoyRogers, and welcome to Korgforums Smile

Regarding some audio tracks disapearing, its true that sometimes this happens, but unfortunately, we have no clue of why.
(I suffered from time to time things related to this myself, though I could still hear the tracks)

In my experience It seems this tends to happen mostly when your senquence is long (over 250 measures or more) and the sequencer of the OASYS is busy with so much MIDI and Audio content.
If this is the case it may freeze as well.

Besides, my advice to you is that you upgrade your OS to the latest version 1.3.1 as soon as possible, it may help.

Regards.
