I had hoped to get back to this, and fix a few timimg issues, and see if I could get a little better guitar tone, but the studio isn't near ready yet, so I'm posting it unfinished.

I wrote this several years ago, and this is the second version I've sort of settled on, but I'm not 100% happy with it yet.

Suggestions welcome.

I think it sounds nice. It's very relaxing and gives me a comforting feeling.

Here are my thoughts and suggestions:

You have a nice solo from the guitar in the beginning. Nothing wrong with it (don't worry about timing). Then the piano comes in, but its solo sounds a little similar to the guitar's. Maybe it could be changed up a little. And I also think the piano could be more involved in the song. But that's JMO. Then I'm pretty sure that the guitar comes in afterwards again. But I think that maybe you could try to replace that guitar solo with the organ solo. Then after that you could have a dual solo with the guitar and piano. I'd suggest there that both instruments play an octave higher in harmony. That would provide a good conclusion to the song I think.

And as far as the guitar tone, I think it sounds good. But maybe you could experiment with delay effects.

Other than that, it sounds great and could be even better.

Hi Stephen, as a Blues fan this song is cool, late night cuddle up with your squeeze, as far as timing issues are concerned, it just needs a tweak here and there. The guitar tone I think is fine, but you'll know yourself what you want to hear from your axe. Keep up the good work.

Hi Stephen...,

This is such a really smooth and thoughtful creation; I might look for a text to pull a person over to "accompany" ...this tasteful experience... for a set of lyrics might be a useful adjunct for novelty... nothing more..

The guitar...., I cannot speak to it; it just sounds great to me... Nice melodic content...and expression from word "go "... !

Keys sound great as well with just enough perc to hold it together....

If I were to approach an area of desire, it would be only the fast trem. on the organ; maybe fitting for others however; I have to add the caveat that I dislike fast organ tremelo in general... (must be something from my early childhood Shocked ..)

A GREAT effort, and worth a long ...quiet period... Listen...! I will do that now..

My Regards Always, John (ellll) Very Happy

Stephen, it's early, i'm down with a cold and I've got goosebumps listening to this smooth masterpiece. I do think there are spots here and there where something else (a sax etc) could be added to distract just a bit from the "let's take turns doing leads" thing, just to mix it up a bit. But these chords and the bed of sounds you've chosen are just lush. Now get that studio put back together and all is well.

I agree with some comments above, this great music really need a singer or a sax sound, it reminds me some old ballads I heard many many years ago in a pub in Texas.
I can just say that the lead guitar is just a little too high for my years, just a few db less would sounds better to my ears (wait, I'm listening thru my imac, maybe I need headphones or speakers). You can add some lower frequencies to the drum too but again, maybe it's my poor imac audio system that cut lower freqs.
Anyway, Well done!
Regards, Lorenzo

Hey Stephen, the music is smooth and relaxing has a "live" feel to it, i especially like the emotional Guitar lead and the background sounds holds it well, i have no problem with the tremolo Organ...

cheers

Thanks everyone, I truly appreciate the comments.
Cool
I promise to get back to this one soon, the studio is in the final stages, mainly awaiting the flooring.
Hopefully, I'll have time before I have to start work on my April submission, I got nothing so far!
Face palm
Regards,

Hi Stephen,

Man OSAM is such a global village - variety big time.

Its always good to hear you soloing on guitar. The organ playing here is a nice touch. Although I prefer the faster tempo blues, this one went by fast and was very smooth - like a glass of red wine Smile

Like George and John, you have a very unique style Smile

Cheers,

Hi Stephen

I'm catching up with my listening tonight and am really enjoying the smooth, laidback sound of this one. Great harmonies, as always, and beautiful guitar lead. Hope you get your studio up and running soon!

Regards from
Dee
