I've had a search and not found anything. This is weird. My number 4 step key no longer lights up, meaning I can't assign a part to the key. But it does work (though doesn't light up) in keyboard mode and shift+4 for copying a part. Have I completely overlooked something? I did try a factory reset but that didn't fix it. |

Now it appears as though I can assign a part to the key (I don't know how long this will work for) but there is still no light on the key. Appears like a fault of some kind. I knew I should have bough it new
I'm wondering if the Caig CaiKote 44 mentioned in an earlier thread would help here or does it sound like a fault that needs to be fixed?

Ok. Played around for a while and the step key appears fully functional, just no light. So it looks like a dead LED. I assume it's a soldering job and these lights don't plug in? |

unfortunately, the LEDs in the Electribes are SMDs (read: teeny, tiny little things), and will require a steady hand and some soldering experience in order to replace. if you can live without it, you're better off just leaving it dark, but that could obviously lead to confusion on occasion.
glad to hear your Electribe is otherwise fully functional! |

I feared as much after reading a thread on the other Electribe forum. My only experience of soldering was last year when soldering very thin tail motor wires onto my micro helicopter. That was a tricky job but I was safe in the knowledge that if I messed up a new tail motor was only £5.
I guess I'm looking at getting it fixed, but the stories of sending it to Korg and not getting it back for months are a little off putting. I could get it done by anyone experienced with electronics but I'd also like Korg to take a look at everything. I don't know if they do a general service like you'd have with an annual service on your car?
