And yes I tried searching this forum (nothing) and the net. All I find are references to the same press release from several months ago. I tried searching the korg site and got an SQL error. I tried the Japanese site:
http://www.korg.co.jp/Support/OS/
And it mentions it but there is no link there either (can anyone read Japanese?).
I'm thinking it is vaporware. |

Very nice! Why the #$)*&! is Korg hiding this?
It works, I was able to send one of the sample MIDI files to my PX5D. I had to remember to set the MIDI out channel to the PX5D because it doesn't do it by default.
However it only accepts Standard MIDI format 0. Guitar Pro only wants to spit out format 1. Apparently the difference is SMF0 has all tracks in one track (how do they do this?) and SMF1 has all tracks in separate tracks. I even imported one of the samples that comes with the unit, exported it, then tried re-saving it to my PX5D and I got the same error.
Anyone know of a free SMF1 to SMF0 converter? |

I have used - or tried to use - the songdupdater for a while now. Thanks for this hidden link! I was able to create a decent backing track in BandInABox that were within the limitations of how large and which format a MIDI file can be for Px5d to hande. It all sounds ok, and loads into the PX5d well.
BUT! there's no way in h*** theres a chance to make it loop around in tempo! No matter what I do. They always stop, and there's a big break of silence and - although not any count in the second time around - it starts by its own after say 30 seconds. SMF format 0 or 1, PPQ 480 or less, midi this or midifile that. Doesn't matter. I've spent weeks on this.
Their own default songs, which are included in the zip files downloadeable, are looping without missing a beat! You have to press exit to make'm stop playing. And when I open those in any midi editor or computer program, one can't see what should be different from them and my own in any event list. I've been scrutinizing all metadata too.
Even when I do a "re-save" those default files under different name (to not overwrite original ones) they perform flawlessly, if there should be anything hidden that a save adds to a file to make it perform "unloop". I've tried most things, editing of events, and checked all system exclusive things and so on.
Any ideas?
I want my own songs to loop around without missing a beat, just like the regular default ones of Korgs own songs. |
