PX4D Noise

Post by Cabbitt »

Hello all. I did a search, but couldn't find an answer.

I have a PX4D that I love, but when I connect it to my amp (Classic 30) I get a lot of noise when a note is picked. The Noise Reduction on the unit doesn't help. I'm using good cables. Has anyone else had this problem?

I noticed that the Output is stereo, and I'm using a mono cable. Could this be the problem? I'd really like to use this unit live, but the noise is not acceptable.

Thanks.

The noise problem could be a simple solution, or complicated, heres a few
Ideas you might try instead of the output mono cable use a Y stereo plug
adapter cable to combine the left and right signal to mono to the imput
to the amp, you will want to do this anyway. If It still hums, are you using
a power adapter, If you are, try using just batteries, If that works, then
you have a ground loop problem with the adapter, for that sometimes just
plugging the adapter to a exstention cord will solve It. I hope Its not your
amp. Good Luck,

Thanks. I'll try that. I know it's not the amp.

I tried a Y cable - no help. Tried with just batteries - no help. I'm still getting a noise rush-up after each note, sounds similar to a compressor rush-up. Very frustrating!

I would really like to use this unit live, but this noise is just too noticeable. Anyone have any suggestions? I never got an answer from Korg support.

Thanks.
