Hello,
I hope someone can help me out with this problem
I have downloaded the Jean Michel Jarre Styles from www.olavier.com
only i have a problem to play them on my PA500.

for example i'll try to load the style for Vangelis "Chariots Of Fire"
Normaly it sounds like this: (see video above)
The only thing i hear is the "clapping" sound when the intro 2 button is pressed in the video.... no bass, stings, synth sounds....
Do i have to convert something first?
Does anyone have Jean michel jarre styles that will play on the PA500? |

Exactly what is the origin of the styles - on which keyboard were they created?
Did you also load "GLOBAL" settings?
What exactly was in the SET?

Convert from what? - a different keyboard?
There could be a number of reasons why it did not work.
Give us some details of the SET and we can try to help.
(Alex had a superb SET for MJ's Oxygene style and sounds a long time ago in PA1XPro days)

The problem is already solved.. the problem was not the keyboard, not the style...it was ME. Feel sooooo stupid 
so, most of the problems are solved....but i need to do some more fine tuning...change some settings.
Read this below. i've posted this on the forum where i get the styles from:

In this video.... the sound starts when C# key is pressed.... maybe that will do the trick?
the only thing that i did was pressing intro 1button, and start button. maybe that's why i'm hearing only the drum sound?
what i've found out...i must press a chord.. 3 key's at the same time to start correctly
1 ( or 2) key('s) pressed mentiont in the video does'nt work in my case. Maybe this is a setting that i can change?

He is using the pad button's to start various effects...only my pad button's does also not sound like as in the video.
Must these manualy programmed to get the correct sound?
It doen't matter which style i load....the pad's have always the same sound when i press them.
I hope you understand what i meant to say... sorry for my crappy explanation, i'm just a rookie.

Well, i've learned a lot more...
Some things i don't understand yet.. example: what about pcg files?
what are those, and how to load them.
Are these to add sounds to the pads? (see also above)

Hi gwb, when a style is prepared on the pa if the pads are 'locked' from the previous style that you played then those pads will be tranferred and saved to the new style....I do this sometimes to save time if I'm converting a bulk of styles. If you want a choice they must be manually selected and saved to the style.
