now the t3 can only have comb-preset and preset and sequence data

the t3ex has the pcm memory and will allow you to load dsm1 perfomance disks and save and load pcm

no you will no if you have the ex as there are 2 floppy formats for the standard there is only the combi and preset disk this allow a few banks of patches to be saved

if you have ex the you can format for pcm this formats the floppy into 2 parts 1mb for the pcm 8bit data msb/lsb for 16bits and the other .44mb for 1 full bank of combi and presets to go with the pcm

now are you sure you had to flip the cable on the t3ex

as when using the rev f on an emax or dss1 i never had to flip the cable pin 1 goes to pin 1

I tried everything I knew to check if the drive is working. But there were not even a stepping sound from the floppy...

So I decided to buy this SD HxC. With the help of Jeff I found my fault. Now he is analysing the format of the disk I sent to him and hopefully he will add this Omniflop format to it.

I keep you informed.

Jhulk: Thanks for the information you gave. I own a T3ex.

So it should be possible to load the files from the following site (hopefully):

Yes I had to reverse the cable. I found a similar post somewhere around here in the korg forums.

I tried nearly every disk I got from Jorge and also saved some. It is working without any flaws. Just the DSM-1 files are not working right now. But with a little help from Jeff it might be working some day.

Are the M1 disk / cards somewhere available?

did you load them as dsm file as you cant load a dsm disk as pcm

theres no images of those files and they have not been available for £10+ years

there never was images of the m1 cards

but i am going to sample all the pcm cards so that t owners can use the sysex and just allocate the right pcm from the multisound bank

I tried to load them as dsm-1 PCM disk. I will try again the next days.

That would be great. Isn't possible to dump the PCM cards?

Hi Jorge,

Yes I know. But to be honest for easier writing and since I had not the disk available at the time I wrote it here I just copied the texts...

he means patches not pcm data as there was never any pcm data floppies done by korg as they did the pcm cards

if you want the pcm data to go with the sysex of the pcm cards then you need to sample the multisounds to get them then you have to use an editor to choose the correct multisound with each patch then you have to save them

the synth design card is about the best loads of extra waveforms

it the same pcm multisounds as used for the 01w and wavestation/sr

jhulk:
"he means patches not pcm data as there was never any pcm data floppies done by korg as they did the pcm cards..."

jhulk, it seems to be some confusion here about the disks for the T series and about the PCM, prg and combi disks korg put out at the time.

Korg released PCM, prog and combi disks for the T1, and subsequently for the T2ex and T3ex, here are the oficial names and numbers:

TSD-00P1 T1/T2ex/T3ex Standard Factory Preload Disc (includes T1 Piano3 sample)
TSD-01 Korg Synth T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-02 Korg Drums T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-03 Korg Combination 1 T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-04 Korg Combination 2 T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-05 Korg Combination 3 T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-06 Korg Fretted Inst T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-07 Korg Ethnic T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-08 Korg Sound Effects 1 T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-09 Korg Environment 1 T-Series PCM Disc
TSD-10 Korg Voice T-Series PCM Disc

These disks have a lot of samples and sounds present on the M1 PCM cards, as you can see some even have the same name as the M1 cards. They have fewer samples than the cards because of disk limitations. They are all also part of the Korg Legacy Collection M1, along with all M1 Cards.

Korg from what i've been told also released some other PCM disks originally created from T series users and latter relesed by Korg, they where called TSDU disks, i dont know if they had ever any names associated.

TSDU-101
TSDU-102
TSDU-103
TSDU-104
TSDU-105
TSDU-106
TSDU-107
TSDU-108
TSDU-109
TSDU-110

There was also a lot of third party companies releasing T1 PCM disks at the time, they are still available today.

i said korg did not release the m1 cards pcm

as disks for the t

they only released the t series pcm disks

you will find that they dont have the m1 pcm cards multisounds in

thats what i was getting at as he said m1

also there is a massive amount of m1 sounds in the korg synth general forum as a sticky it at the top of the page
