Has anyone managed to fit a hard drive internally in the Triton rack.

The EXB-SCSI offers an external SCSI connector, but it would be nice to
have the drive built in. There are some quite small SCSI drives around, I
have a 2.5" laptop SCSI drive with an adapter that would probably work
OK, it doesnt draw much power.

We sell a complete kit for adding an internal 4GB SSD unit and it is very easy to install. You could use our install kit to install a 2.5" notebook hard drive instead but why do that when you can use the SSD which has no moving parts and makes no noise whatsoever during operation? However, if you want to install a notebook hard drive, I'll be glad to help you accomplish that using our internal drive install kit.

We also sell a SCSI compact flash card reader/writer drive that mounts in the place of your floppy drive called the CF-CARD - possibly you would be interested in that, as it allows you to change CF cards. It's really easy to swap files between the Triton and your computer that way.

Your web site looks exciting and very useful but it is a bit confusing - too many different descriptions /options /procedures and I can't quite follow it all.

I too have a Triton Rack - I just bought it yesterday, and am very keep to put an internal hard disk in it.

Can you give clarity on the following:

- What's the largest capacity solid state drive that a Triton Rack can take?

- Is this kit installable by the owner? Is it straight forward?

- Does installing an internal solid state drive null-and-viod also installing a SCSI board and attaching a SCSI CDROM drive?

- Does installing the internal solid state drive block installation of other options such as the MOSS board or EXB boards?

- What is the price of this upgrade?

- The post and packing looks very expensive - will you offer the option of cheaper (if longer) post / shipping (to Ireland for me).

Just like to say I bought the external SCSI CF drive from this company. I found them very helpful and I am very happy with the product. A 4GB CF card holds a lot of samples, and of course you can have as many as you like, so unless you really need a big HD I would suggest you look at the CF option.

I've purchased the internal CF drive for my Triton from ScsiForSamplers and have worked with them on a few customizations. You can't go wrong here.

I also agree with Vicz that a 4GB CF holds a lot of samples and is an idea storage solution.
