Losing samples changing banks.

I have had trouble recently while changing banks. I lose samples when I go back to the bank they are in from another bank. I am definitely writing the samples to memory but somehow even when I choose say bank A, I seem to end up on a preset screen with all the factory samples. Korg said I am inadvertently saving presets to a bank so overwriting the samples there. How?
