|
|
Hey there,
I ve got a question that is really doing my head in. I got the Ims-20 on my ipad and love it big time.
But one thing i do not understand: if i am trying to create a song in the sequencer, i am not able to load my own patches into the patterns that i want to use.
Pattern 1 plays the patch that i open in my browser, but i really can't figure out how to get another of my patches in pattern 2, and another one in pattern 3 etc.
Anyone? Thx! |

Hi there,
At the top of the screen (towards the left hand side) you will see the current pattern that is selected. If you simply touch where it is displaying that pattern, a drop down box will appear that will let you select another pattern.
Hope that helps _________________ Korg : Electribe MX-1, Microsampler, Kaoss Pad Quad

Thanks a lot Krog,
But i still haven't solved this riddle. Let me be more precise:
- i open the song/ptn screen
- i see sixteen pads with the patterns 1 to 16
- i have a couple of my own saved sessions that i can access via the session browser button
Now how can i assign these sessions to pattern 2, another one to pattern 3, etc.?
Appreciate the help! |

Ok, i think this is what you mean, go to synth, then select your pattern then use that in the song/prog, or easyer way is just to make that pattern then assighn to pad 1, thats how i do it _________________ Si vis pacem para bellum |

Thanks man. But that's not what i meant.
You can make songs with the ims20, using the song/ptn screen. On that song/ptn screen, you can assign things you make to the patterns you see there. But how do i do that? How do I assing for example my session 'johns loop' to e.g. pattern 8 or pattern 15?
I am not able to save anything i made to those patches. I really think i'm overlooking something simple here. I see those patches, my sessions are in the browser screen, but i'm not able to figure this out. |

Ah we will get there, lol, il have another go..
Ok im on the pattern screen, ptn is selected on the top ok, i go to drums, and add something there, go to synth work out what i want, hit record,
Go back to pattern, it will be on pad 1, so i hit the top white pattern button, and the pads flash, so i then tap the one i want to assign, ok? _________________ Si vis pacem para bellum |

But i already have a couple of saved sessions that i want to arrange in a certain manner.
I do not want to record live. I have a couple of saved files and i want to make a song out of them. Play them in a specific, customized order. |

I may be wrong here, but i dont think you can play saved song sessions on the pads, they are just for creating the song in pattern mode.
Unless they are not too long, you can import each one into a drum pattern in the drum sequencer by editing the pattern, first button on the section, then assigning your saved session to that _________________ Si vis pacem para bellum |

But how is it possible that you cannot load your own saved files onto the patches?
I thought it was also possible to import things. How can you use those things to create a song then, if it is not possible to assign them to patterns?
I have another question as well: does anyone know where you can get Korg-support for this product? Is there an email adress or something? I live in the Netherlands and there is no Korg-customer support available. |

You can, i dont know if we are getting mixed up here but ithe loading of patches is pretty simple, just use the sound preset tab on the top, from the home screen/synth panel or from drums, that way you can load any one you have made or a preset, this is the same procedure for loading any patch, by what your saying you may have either not found that or maybe its not working for you?
But as i say maybe we getting crossed wires here. _________________ Si vis pacem para bellum |

I really really appreciate your help, Darknight, but i can't be any more specific. I'll give it one last try.
- i made a couple of things and saved them as separate sessions.
- I named these files 'sample 1' , 'sample 2', etc. When i open the session browser, they are all listed there.
- I want to make a song, using the different sessions i saved as session earlier.
- i go to the song/ptn screen
- I open my first file, 'sample 1' and it's automatically assigned to pattern 1.
- Now i want to assign the next session I want to use, 'sample 2', to pattern 2.
And that's where I get lost. I am only able to assign things to pattern 1. I tried all kinds of stuff, but I just can't figure it out. |

No worries mate, we will get there, lol.
Ok there are a couple of ways, easyest would be go to drums, click for instance the second one down, then click sound edit, then click sound preset at the top, then voila, load your second one.
You could also go into the pattern/song window, click the pad you want i.e 2, then go back to synth and load the preset from the window at the top again.. Think we got it now,, _________________ Si vis pacem para bellum |

Nope. Not working. When i choose pattern 2 in the song/ptn screen, return to drums and then try to load a session in it, it loads automattically into pattern 1. I give up. Will wait for video tutorial or something. Love the product, but it could use a more extensive manual. |
