Wow. What a complete mess this is. My God.

:x

It was all so simple. CoreMIDI was provided and there's a PLETHORA of MIDI options that Korg could have offered - all at the same time.

1. MIDI via cam connection kit/camera kit with USB-To-MIDI adaptor
2. MIDI via the Line6 MIDI Mobilizer
3. MIDI via wifi through onboard Apple MIDI networking or PC MIDI networking.
4. Full MIDI implementation including clock sync.

I mean, WTF?

:x
perhaps you'll be happier with the $50 MS-20 VSTi?

I'd be happier if Korg got their SH1T together and did MIDI correctly for the iMS-20. Laughing

I've been able to receive MIDI on my iPad apps via the cam connection kit and Uno, but thus far haven't been able to send out a single friggin MIDI note or CC from the iPad. Have you gotten this to work?

MIDI monitor utilility on my Macbook shows lots of output activity, and I can send notes and CCs to apps no problem. But totally dead on the input side.

Yes, it works here. Do you have the cool little App named MIDI Monitor (see http://iosmidi.com/)? Beside monitoring MIDI (of course), that App has a section called "MIDI TESTING BOARD". Just connect your iPad to whatever MIDI module you have at hand. You will see MIDI activity if you do something on the module side, or you can "play" the module with the virtual keyboard and knobs in the "MIDI TESTING BOARD" section.

For example, I connected the iPad to my M3 and it works perfectly.

I am using, as I said, the M-Audio Midisport Uno connected to the Camera Connection Kit.

Hope this helps.

Carillon Control 25 (with powered hub)
Korg Nano Keys
Akai SynthStation 25 (with powered hub)

Hi Guys, I apologize in advance for my complete ignorance in this matter, but... is there a "battery-powered powered-USB-Hub" out there? Is saw one which is unavailable on Amazon. Do you own one? Did anyone try one in the iPad setup?

Yeah, cool. I've got the MIDI Monitor app, and send and receive work fine in that app, but I still can't get any apps to send MIDI.

Do you have NLogSynthPro? Classic example of how I'll be in that app, and it will receive MIDI. But sending? Nothing. Even the MIDI out light on the Uno is dead. No activity in the iPad app. No activity on MIDI monitor. Same goes with every single music app I've got that says they are now supporting the Cam Conn Kit.

In fact, what apps besides MIDI Monitor do you have that are able to send MIDI out via the Uno?

My guess? If the friggin MIDI Monitor can send via the Uno, then the problem lies in the individual apps themselves. I'm trying to hunt down JUST ONE app that will work with the Uno in SEND.

Okay, I've just confirmed with the developer that NLogSynthPro does NOT support MIDI out. He says it's coming in the next update.

Well, at least I know I'm not TOTALLY insane or incompetent.

Yeah, that was my guess too.

The point is NOT "supporting" or "working". Nor is Midisport Uno or any other interface. Those Apps DO NOT HAVE MIDI Out implemented yet, period.

We must wait... Smile

@loopstationzebra: there's a new toy at the app store, that you might want to take a look at. It's called 'MidiPadz lite', it features drum pads, an x/y touch pad, and it even uses the accelerometer to transform the iPads x/y rotation into MIDI CC data. It supports MIDI Out via usb/CCK and also WiFi network sessions.

How isit working for you?. I had a general post that I got Korg im20 to work with my Roland workstation circa '93. I can't assign any controllers to it . It has 2 banks of 8 sliders for mixing. I tried Midimonitor also but no output. I use AC power for my synth and like using it as a trigger.

Yeah, I actually picked up that app yesterday in order to test it out.

Works great with the CCK and M-Audio Uno - sends MIDI just fine. Great app as well.
