Since no-one else has replied to this, I'll try to help, but you've probably figured it out by now.
When you hit sound edit for a particular drum track it takes you to a page that is a simplified version of the normal iMS-20 synth, that has been optimised for drums sounds.
All you have to do is mess with the controls until you find something you like. Try the controls in the filters and EG2 first, but really you just need to play around with it - try everything, you can't break it.
If you find a sound you like save it with a new name using the save button at the top of the screen in the SOUND PRESET section.
If you decide you don't like the edits you've made to the sound the easiest way to get back to the original is just to load it again using the browse button next to the save button. When you've finished making your changes and saved the sound (or reloaded the original), hit the Back button to take you back to the main drum page.
If you are wondering why the Envelope Generator 1 section doesn't seem to do anything , it is because it doesn't - unless you use the Patch Panel to connect it up. I'd recommend ignoring the Patch Panel at least for now.
Hope this helps. |
