this was my guess a few days ago.

Reality is :

3350 gbp the 88

3100 gbp the 73

that makes

4000 euros the 88 and

3700 the 73

4000 euros "pre-order special" is effin' steep,

Typical - we get shafted in the UK by the bloody exchange rate or whatever it is!

Not that I actually want one but was mildly curious...

Sad

it's not the exchange rate: pound is overvalued. at 1.50/1.45 on the dollar things would be even worse

it's the taxes and small volumes, combined with dealers' inefficience.

And don't get me started on Ze Mighty 1000 Yearz Evro Reich!

By my calculation the 88 should be £2872.59 inc VAT @ 20% with the US Dollar at $1.587 to £1 GBP

Bloomin typical, Korg UK ripping us off again, guess I'm getting a Yammy Motif instead Sad

Pre-order prices for Kronos 88:
3599 $ @sweetwater
and
3349 £ @ gg-digital (= 3970 € = 5315 $) Mad

That would mean
1 $ = 1.1 € (but in reality 1$ = 0.75€)

This is a joke and so disappointing if you consider that KORG USA is doing all the support for the community, too. I'm wondering what the value of the european distributors is?

It should cost 2700€ if I did the math correctly. I decided to not buy it until the price falls below 3000€. Period! Crying or Very sad

no, "in reality" 1 usd = 1 eur

In euro-fantasy 1 eur = 1.30 us$, but this is not "real" at all.

Ask our portuguese and greek friends how many Kronos a drakma or a peso would buy, and you've got the answer.

Same goes for the post-Irish-débacle british pound.

Artificially overvalued currencies don't buy things.

Ozy, where are you living?

Our portuguese and greek friends' currency is €, and the official exchange rate today is 1$ = 0.75€.
I agree with you in one point: reality for some goods is 1$ = 1€ = 1£, though. Except for expensive things where usually the official exchange rate is applied (+/- some tax deviations).

But let's see how the price situation evolves over time. If necessary, I will combine a trip to NY with the purchase of a Kronos, and smuggle it in in a used keyboard bag Wink

About the prices I agree, it's the same old crap again and again...

If the products are not produced in the US, there is absolutely no reason for the prices to be so different in the US than in Europe.

If the price was fair compared with the US, I could see myself buying one.
For that overpriced price and considering the way they don't show much respect for European costumers, I don't see myself buying one...

I'm Argentinian, and we use Peso.
The exchange rate here is:

1 Dollar = 0.24 Pesos

It sucks.
