Motifs guitars aint no better than any other HW synths: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01R8BpbQJu8
I have gotten similar results from Casio MZ-2000(a year 2000 model, the last good Casio. The Casio, that Yamaha needed Tyros to be able to beat it(and I think that first Tyros was worse that MZ-2000))

Its all effects, and Yamahas muddy sound quality makes it even worse in soloing purposes. Rolands Cosm and Korgs Rems amp models are on the same league, but I think their sound quality is a bit more versatile(you can get muddy, but your not stuck in there) and you can get slightly more realistic tone. But they are on the same league and they all sound like synths on effects, not a guitar. Korg also has more versatile synthesis engine(+ an interface to get something done). I liked Cosm so much, that I got Boss'es cheap digital recorder to get Rolands effects back after selling my Fantom-X.

Check out Motif very nice guitars IMHO

Geez, I'll have to put the M3 away and break out the Motif XS to have a listen. I guess this has escaped me.
I'm going to dump both of them as soon as the Kronos is actually in stores anyway, so I might as well get to try the guitars out whilst I can.

Tnx for the tip. -Mike

The Motif EX/XS/XF have some lovely mega voiced guitar & bass sounds.

However, the Korg PA series of arrangers also have some excellent sounding guitars & basses.

If they can make their PA series instruments shine when it comes to convicing guitars, surely, they could do the same with the Kronos????

[quote="Dr. Who"]If guitars and orchestral strings are important u shouldn't be using any synth not even a Motif. There are even cheap guitar VI's at $99 that will kill anything that the Motif can generate and acoustically Motif has been better than Korg. For realistic orchestral instruments no synth can hold a candle to Vienna or East West Platinum.
A synth cannot compete with over 100gbs of orchestral samples and the complex coding for realistic articulations. quote]

Nice work Bro Link, Both guitars was well done, but when it comes to software and GB as opposed to MB in most samples Workstations, it's no comparison.
Dr Who is correct, I think that Kronos has more memory dedicated to the samples than all Workstations and we will know the true sound in April 2011.
