Can I ask a question please?

I noticed that Kronos user O/S on-screen layout looked more user friendly, simplified was this a goal of korg?

I was cross referencing the O/S differences between the Oasys & the Kronos.

Based on the specs and the video I would trade my Oasys for a Kronos in a heartbeat.

I am sure you could sell your OASYS for a price that would allow you to have enough money to buy the Kronos.

The last time I looked used OASYS models still sold in the $3,500 - $4,000 range.

But what if I start my fully-expanded OASYS 76 for sale at $3000... with a flight case? (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230574887354)

Do you think it will sell?

Mark.

Nothing has been changed or simplified. Most of the screens are identical, however, the OASYS was 640 x 480 and the KRONOS is 800 x 600, so some scaling was applied which may have resulted in more white space between parameters or something like that. The program mode has new picture images on the front page, but that's about all that's really different.

Hi Stephen,

How compatible are the two Korgs? Will we be able to use Kronos sounds on the Oasys?

By the way, thanks for all the support to everybody over the years.

This has already been discussed.
Kronos sounds can Not be ported into the O

Oasys sounds can be dropped into Kronos - might need some tweaking though

Stephen, I have an EASY question for you: Since there is no semi-weighted beyond 61 keys, how realistic is it that I can play organ, fast leads, palm smears, etc like I do on the semi-weighteds?

Thanks!

you buy a clavia and midi-connect it to the

"ultimate all-in-one keyboard, after which you'll never need anything else",

of course.

Steven already confirmed this in an earlier page on this very thread.

It's correct that you can load OASYS into KRONOS, but not the other way. Maybe you'll believe me. Wink

Thanks for this info Smile

I was wondering if perhaps the letters and symbols on the screen were smaller than the Oasys's text.
It dosen't seem so, so this was important to me - an aging 36 year old human nearly going on arthritis & whatnot and in a few years, to be mummified like an ancient Egyptian....so I need to see things clearly and at least the same size as Oasys screen before I die.

I'm an M-3 user, with MONTHS of programming and study of it. While I considered an Oasys, now the Kronos comes out and it's caught my eye.
Are the 2 OS as different as to which nothing from my M-3 will transfer to it?
Sorry, the M-3 hasn't been talked about on this particular thread...

You should probably create another thread (see thread title and you know why this isn't discussed here). But to make the story short: The M3 is incompatible with the Kronos.

To some degree, the Kronos obsoleted the hardware of the Oasys and the software of the M3. Korg killed two birds with one stone. (not entirely, but perhaps effectively)

Thank you all for the valuable information.

I would like to see the opinion of Dan and Skippy about the sound quality.

Dan, please explain: beyond the specs we know is there any important difference in hardware/software to compare (like you shown here for example).

The list being maintained in the first post of this thread is pretty good. The new sample management features are noteworthy as well, IMO. In re sound quality, algorithms for OASYS-derived features are the same, and ADCs and DACs are the same.

Best regards,

- Dan
