Hi all.
Here's 15 photos I took of the Kronos at namm. Sorry about the quality, it's only a pocket camera and not my usual DSLR. The Kronos was kind of dirty too from people touching it.

Nice to have a few close up shots of the UI, which I haven't seen previously.
One advantage of the touch screen, I guess is that fewer physical controls are needed. I like the clean cut, uncluttered look.
These are action shots, right? The keyboards were spinning when you took the photos! |

Yes, and I had a long reach over with one hand on a moving object with a pocket camera.
So sorry, they are not my usual DSLR standard.

I found it funny that Korg put those keyboards on an old Ultimate Support Systems keyboard stand.
I have a couple of those, but Ultimate Support stopped production of those about 10 years ago. |

Thanks for the picts Sharp
Yeah, weird that they used the old ultimate support stand to showcase the 61 and 73key...the 73 key fit in perfectly in between the frames. Also, the frames are black like the K.
Re: pict 5 with Peter Schwarts, did he do a demonstration? If so, why isnt it posted on the net?

Ski did a few demo's I believe. It's a shame KORG didn't record them because his demonstrations were very focused on showing you the deep technical aspects of the sound engines, where KORG's demo's offered you a different flavour. His knowledge of synthesis is extremely advanced.
He would put the best of us to utter shame.
Respect...!!!!

Great pictures Sharp. Thanks for your efforts!
If the fingerprint stains on a board which is just "laying there - doing nothing" is anything to go by.....then about 1 hour studio use will see the Kronos utterly smeared in chocolate, jam, cigarette ash, whisky spills, coffee stains, milk tarts, dairy cheese, dandruff, Round up pesticides, cat hairs, dog ear snuff, snot, spit and battery acid and won't look quite so shiny anymore |

Is it just me or is there a smaller space between the bottom of the screen and the top of the keybed on the 61? _________________ Current Korg Lineup: Kronos 61, Oasys 76 · M3-61/RADIAS · Trinity Plus/HDR · 01/WFD · 01R/W · X3R · M3R · Wavestation EX · Wavestation SR · Triton Rack/MOSS · Z1EX · TR-Rack · Karma · D3200 · iM1 · iWavestation · iMono/Poly

The 88 key and the 73 key are 16.18" deep vs. 14.25" for the 61.
88-key: 57.28” x 16.18” x 5.71”
73-key: 48.94” x 16.18” x 5.71”
61-key: 41.42” x 14.25” x 5.28” _________________

While it's all functional and virtually all of OASYS's physical interface is there; to be honest it looks very boring. I mean, they couldn't have done less with it! They really have cut corners - labelling is virtually nonexistent and the buttons and knobs look tiny and flimsy. It looks like a prototype.
I have to admit – seeing these pictures makes it look a little under-whelming (though I full well know the gargantuan power under the hood). But I do hope Korg intend a little more labelling on the surface. They must be really pushing their price/performance to the limit to make this work, given how minimal the surface looks (but in an un-classy way!). It’s certainly no OASYS w.r.t user interfacing / ergonomics/ performance interaction with the control surface to left of screen.
Kevin.
