Problem with the Knob on M3

On my M3 the Knob started acting weird since last week, doesnt work properly,
you keep turning but inside the system the value goes back and forth, i mean
like up and down, like there is something mechanical wrong with the Knob.
If you start at 1 it'll go to 2-3 then back to 1 then it'll work for few numbers then
will go back and forth e tc...always random, not a pattern. Now, i know it is
something probably Mechanical...is there a solution without opening the machine
or i have to actually open the synth? If anyone has done something similar, any
picture to post available? I have friends actually Korg Repair Dealer but i just dont
have time to bring it all the way to their repair place, kinda far.
