If, as folk have said in other threads here, the K's 're "on the boat" with a targeted release date of April - are they "on the street" in Japan now?
Just wondering if Korg is holding out for a 'Global' release (tho' apparently Europe is not on yet on Korg's globe) or if Kronos is already, as the song goes, BIG IN JAPAN.
Are we waiting for an April tsunami of Kronususes (Kroni?) or the trickle down leftovers after Tokyo's had it's first and second helping?
[Sorry, severe GAS makes me cranky, bitter and sarcastic.)

They aren't quite in production yet! They may well become available in Japan a few weeks before they are elsewhere, due to transportation time - but it doesn't take two months to get across the ocean (anymore - thank goodness!).

I live in Japan. Ishibashi is a major music store here and their website indicates a sale date of April 9th, 2011. I don't expect it to be released any earlier as Japan is pretty on target with their release dates.

So, is there a chance that Kronos will receive a silver case with the classic aspect of a Trinity rather than a black case that looks like a M1? |

It'll be produced exactly as you've seen it, in the deep metallic bluish-gray color. It's a color that you really have to see in person to appreciate... Every video/photo appears a little different, owing in part to the lighting, and in part to the brushed finish (not porous, as in the Triton/M3).
As with everything else... You have to see/try it in person.

With the 90 yen to the $1 US exchange rate, the 61 key will cost over $3200 US: |
I don't know what place you do your currency conversions with.... I just changed some yen to US dollars a few days ago and the rate was 82.9. True, it's going up a bit recently, but it's 83.4 or so right now.
Here's a real-time feed of accurate foreign exchange rates:

You are converting YEN to dollars which is a good deal. I am paid in dollars and would have to buy Kronos in yen which is not a good deal with the exchange rate.
I checked today at my local bank:
U.S. Buys: ¥ 80.0000
Currency Cost Unit: $ 0.0125
Date Effective: 02/11/201 _________________ Tool box: Kronos 61, Fantom FA06, ASR-10, MPCX, MPC Live, and MPC 4000. |

You said something about 90. This looks like 80. But OK,being paid in US dollars while living in Japan, that is the wrong side of the equation at this moment. _________________ Stephen Kay - KARMA Developer • Karma-Lab - karma-lab.com

Oops
Yes...I meant my dollar gets 80 yen not 90 yen. I miss the days of $1 getting 120 yen and Japanese products being almost dirt cheap here in country...Korg Triton Rack and Triton Studio were $600-$1000 cheaper in Japan than they were in the US back in 2002. _________________ Tool box: Kronos 61, Fantom FA06, ASR-10, MPCX, MPC Live, and MPC 4000. |
