Yes, there's a banjo sound in STR-1, and I believe (don't quote me) that there might also be some PCM-based banjos (HD-1).

There definitely are PCM and modeled banjo sounds in Kronos. In addition to being able to produce a banjo sound using several different synthesis technologies, you can also add banjo-specific, KARMA-generated performance effects.

If it's based on the same PCM data that's in the OASYS (which is extremely likely) then it's actually a quite good Banjo too. Way.... better than what was on the Triton Series and everything before it. It sounds way more real.

Regards
Sharp.

I don't know the Kronos yet but OASYS has a banjo sound and I like it. If you need a substitute accompaniment sound for some songs then I guess that will do.

(But I'm not a banjo player. Don't you have a real banjo player in your country band?)

As it happens, I used the OASYS banjo sound prominently on this track:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cute-overload-parry-gripp/id295720201

(The preview starts near the end of the banjo solo.)

Dan, did you use the STR-1 or PCM version?

Busch.

That was an HD-1 sound, I think.
