hey Dan, thanks, so this only occurs during writing to the disk, not when reading from it?

Yes - it's sometimes called "write fatigue."

I'm sorry, but I can't comment on use of specific parts at this time.

Someone will open up a Kronos after they buy it and tell everyone what is inside.

Hello Martin;

Yeah, you know thats going to happen, my reasoning is this, since Korg is supporting a SATA SSD drive at 30Gb, unless they wrote a limitation in the OS, what would prevent you from installing a larger SSD, especially if the speed of the SATA spec was the same, when I had my OASYS at least they had a 40Gb HD inside, Geez.. 30Gb, OK I understand an initial drive size of 30Gb, keep the cost down low, however at least let me install a larger drive....I've also heard that the KRONOS will be supporting 4Gb of RAM, this is great news for us future KRONOS owners, however it seems nuts that they wouldn't allow a larger SSD drive, even if WE pay for it, and I'm familiar with installing any kind of HD, besides they give you DVD's of everything to do a complete restore, I saw 128Gb SSD drives for chump change, thats very little money to you folks out there who don't know US slang...LOL

This is not 100% confirmed from Korg yet. But yeah, it would be great if it happens.

WAY ahead of you. Smile

The first thing I plan on doing is pulling the drive out and cloning it for backup purposes.

No doubt there will also be an app for disk imaging the drive (unix?)
I know that there will disks (optical media) to restore the drive, but your own stuff will also need backing up (as per normal)
