Must have been converted, I guess.
The Kronos specs say 24bit 48 kHz. |

You're right, Akos.
Then there's only two possibilities left:
- a typo or
- different specs than we thought so far.
I normally record at 44.1 kHz, by the way, so these specs would be welcome here. |

Many Korg keyboards have offered CD-burning as an onboard function, so of course they can support the sample rate conversion from 48 to 44.1kHZ. We first did it with the TRITON Studio...
The Sample Edit Mode offers a command called Rate Convert...
These demos were 2-channel mixed to disk which will be recorded at 48 kHz, you can choose either 16 or 24-bit recording. Then you can later perform a Rate Convert command on the file on the disk. So likely that's what happened. And it can all be done on the KRONOS itself. |

conditioned reflex to disseminate files in standard industrial formats?
i.e.: choosing to post information in a ready-to-cd and ready-to-import-in-any-tools format?
Helping people who just want to click-and-listen but despise mp3?
(among others: me).

Nice, the best Korg pianos I've heard.
Mr. ppp isn't convinced by the softer tones though. No depth. They don't breathe - they sound like a series of piano note photos (well snapped but maybe too many highs... perhaps a tweak of the filter envs can tame these). So do most other sampled pianos. These demos showcase some pretty great sampled pianos though.
I bet that when played live alongside them noisy guitar bass and drum whackers, you'd be heard.
PipeDream SGX-1 demo:
Duelling SGX-1s, four of them:
jerryleethek fires up a rockin' reelin' rollin' groove. Dan arrives, (late for the gig because he's been thoughtfully answering posts here), sits down with his pipe, fires it up, and begins to poke and peek out a beautifully constructed melody, which quickly transforms into a fiery leave-no-keys-unburned solo... so on it goes until jerryleethek and Dan drop it right down to ppp, at which point Stephen (who has been there all along, but has been busy programming a series of piano-based GEs after quickly analyzing jerryleethek's first riff) hits the KARMA button and sends the jam off into outer space. Peter calls up the RelativelySpeakingRelativityIsRelative ambient piano patch he has just finished creating, and parallel piano universes are discovered.
Pianos being played just for the sheer joy of playing pianos. |
