Another thread could be also interesting:
Why are you buying a Kronos when you already bought an OASYS? Wink

So if the Oasys was the same price as the Kronos is now with all the adds, you would have selected over the Motif or Roland?

Oh heck yes! In fact, I bought a Roland Fantom on the strength of the instrument samples, which are always very strong. It wasn't until I lived with the Fantom a few days that its shortcomings bit me, and I lamented not buying an OASYS over everything else I bought that summer.

But as everyone else says, an OASYS repackaged with even MORE instruments available and streaming from an SS drive, for half price? I think most keyboardists could come up with the cash for that eventually, without needing a loan.

I just hope I can this year, with everything else I need to buy... *crosses fingers*

Yeah in Australia the recommended retail was close to $15K...but you can always negotiate down. I got it for $10.5k in 2005...well the expansions did cost me another thousand on top.

Billy

1) Cost.
2) Size.
3) Weight.

These were also the same reasons that many people stayed away from the K2500 and K2600 'boards, and the 88-key versions of many workstations that are over, say, 10 years old.

- price
- size of the keyboard
- some of the new unique features: set list, smooth transitions, SSD and quality of piano samples

Kronos has a number of notable advantages over OASYS...

... cost

... weight

... high quality 4.7 gb pianos

... SSD functionality for rapid loading of whatever set of samples you need

... the set list function

and more:

... first class EPiano engine

... better audio recording specs

... better processor

... half the price

Frankly, the original question looks quite naive and uneducated to me.

Simple, my wife would have killed me, stuffed me into the box it came in and send me back to Korg, Oh yea, she would have kept the keyboard.
