Will there be an Easter egg in Kronos, I mean a hidden function like the Pong game in the K2000/K2500/K2600 ?
On the Kurz, press [MASTER], [UTIL], [unlabelled], [SETUP] :
OK, OK, I'd rather spend my time making music... |

LOL - I've seen it all now! A workstation AND a Playstation
Maybe that's what the OASYS' mysterious Function button was for... _________________ Plugged in: Fantom 8, Jupiter-X, Jupiter 80, System-8, JD-XA, V-Synth GTv2, FA-06, SE-02, JU-06A, TR-09, VT-4, Go:Livecast, Rubix44, Shure SM7b, Push2, Ableton 11 Suite, Sibelius, KRK Rokit 5, |

yeah, yeah, right...
but I want that on my cell phone.
I want my cell phone to run a virtual version of Kronos,
with a tiny emulation of its screen,
and a tiny simulation of a 1980 videogame running on it. |

Korg entertains you with quality sounds and quality features. If you need to play pong on it to be truly entertained, you need a better keyboard. _________________ Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha). |

Nobody mentioned anything about "needing" pong or somesuch on a keyboard, McHale. It's just a fun trait on Kurzweils. Although I'm not sure the new PC3s have them, that combination of keys doesn't work. So, quality sounds on PC3 only! |

I'd be pissed if I found out that the KRONOS was delayed a couple months because the "pong" game wasn't working right. I also don't want a bloated OS or programmers wasting time on anything other than the best OS possible. Adding Pong or some other cheesy easter egg adds overhead to the OS which I find ridiculous.
And for the record, as a programmer and an IT professional, I've hated easter eggs since I found out how much bloat it adds to the app. Microsoft adding a flight simulator to Excel is a great example. The software was HUGE because of it and had bugs that went un-fixed but they had time to include a stupid flight simulator. _________________ Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha). |

Wow, tremendous overhead, f*ck*ng PONG. It ran on what, 32 kB of RAM (less?), 8-bit CPU? Wow. BLOAT! LOL.
Also, several months? PONG can be coded in a few hours. Or less. |

speaking of Kurzweil and entertainment,
my wife [God bless indulgent wives] was so endeared by the moose animations on the PC3 ["I'm panicking!", "I feel great today", etc],
that a few days ago she gave me this as a gift:
If Korg includes a hedgehog-shaped usb keys in the offer, I could buy a Kronos |

No, I mean a hedgehog.
I already own a moose, I'd like an hedgehog as well, this time from Korg.
I'd give it to my wife, she would be endeared,
and she would not kill me for buying the Kronos.
All this looks strictly logical to me.
By the way, at 4 grands I think I'd deserve some lousy gadget, right.
Alesis used to include bumper stickers with their gear.
Why not a usb key or a t-shirt? |
