|

Sometimes I like to run through programs with the same chords, or trigger external gear with them. But... when you change programs on the m3 or kronos(im guessing) the chords reset to the ones saves to that program.
So is it possible to lock the chords so they will not change, or copy paste? |

I don't think you can have global setting for the PADs chords. But, you could have your chords on pads in a combi, and then just switch the programs on the track/part. _________________ Roland Fantom-G6 ARX1, Korg M3-m exb-Radias, Korg Z1-18v, Roland MC-808, Roland MC-909, Korg microKontrol. |

From what I recall on the Oasys, no there wasn't any Global setting or lock as you say.
My guess is copy and paste to the new combi. But as Shakil mentions you can change to different programs within the combi to tryout. _________________ Lou |

Thanks, The only problem I have with combi mode is that the programs dont bring the fx with them so they dont sound the same, unless you copy them, not very good for on the fly.
Any way around that? |

No workaround I'm afraid for the fx...
There is a 'Copy pad setup' in the OASYS pad menu (top right dropdown) but can't figure out how to paste it anywhere! But might be worth a look? _________________ Plugged in: Fantom 8, Jupiter-X, Jupiter 80, System-8, JD-XA, V-Synth GTv2, FA-06, SE-02, JU-06A, TR-09, VT-4, Go:Livecast, Rubix44, Shure SM7b, Push2, Ableton 11 Suite, Sibelius, KRK Rokit 5, |

SO, YOU ARE TELLING ME THERE'S NO WAY OF TESTING
24.000 PROGRAMD AND COMBIS
some of them strings, others pianos, others lead synts,
all of them accurately sampled, others modeled to a iota,
BY PLAYING 24000 TIMES EXACTLY THE SAME RIFF OR CHORD SEQUENCE?!?!?!
NAHHHHHHH....
This is a deal breaker for me.
Manually testing the presets?
Come on, what's next: no function for automatically opening the box?!?
Nahhh...
I go buy a Motif.
I'll spend the week-end (and next three weeks) testing all of her presets by playing the "jump" intro automatically through a sequencer. |

Ummm... yeah! Old fashioned way only - it's Korg's way of, well, you know, encouraging people to play their instruments
And I SO know you don't want a Motif... _________________ Plugged in: Fantom 8, Jupiter-X, Jupiter 80, System-8, JD-XA, V-Synth GTv2, FA-06, SE-02, JU-06A, TR-09, VT-4, Go:Livecast, Rubix44, Shure SM7b, Push2, Ableton 11 Suite, Sibelius, KRK Rokit 5, |

Maybe I'm missing something here? ..
If you input a few bars of chord/notes changes of choice into your daw, put it on loop
and change the patch when ever to audition every program/combi on board. Seems simple to me. _________________ Lou |

Ozy,
Kronos will come with self opening box and hydraulic auto height sensing stand built in, but only in US.
But we can't get fresh croissants anywhere.

Regarding the effects, actually I prefer that the programs do not bring their effects into song or combi. The programs are designed with effects when played individually as solo. If those effects are brought into a combi or song with other programs, they may not sound well most of the time.
Design your combi with type of instruments in mind. For example, Bass, piano, string, synth, drums... etc. Then you can keep the effects settings of those in the same combi/song, and try different version of bass on bass track, strings on strings track, pinaos on piano track.
So, in this scenario, you would have programmed the combi/song to used certain effects... and if you want to audition different synth leads with the same chord.
If you want to play solo, then, just old three finger chords would work easily..... we are keyboard players... right?
I agree if there was a global 'audition' function, that would be great. _________________ Roland Fantom-G6 ARX1, Korg M3-m exb-Radias, Korg Z1-18v, Roland MC-808, Roland MC-909, Korg microKontrol. |

From a musician's point of view it's better not to have an automatic audition mode. If you need to play something complicated and find a program for it, after testing out 1000 programs, I am sure you can play that complicated part fluently ... and probably never forget it for the rest of you life. _________________

oh, THIS is why I keep unadvertently using that "Pop Corn" riff in my solos...
... and why I sing "jump" in the shower |
