On several demos it seems the smaller keybed is used more often, or is it just me. I know I am not always the most observant but doesn't it seem the smaller Kronos is used more often? If I am correct in my observation I am curious why? I could be wrong maybe the semi weighted and fully weighted are used universally I just didn't notice that. |

I would guess that the 61 is quite a bit easier to transport and set up, so you are seeing it used in demos more often. |

I suspect there are a limited number of demo units, and most (if not all) are 61-key units. |

Here's a picture of the serial number of the Kronos that was at Bellevue American Music. My other pictures turned out kind of crummy.... In a couple of months, we'll all be able to take pictures of our OWN Kronos' (Kronoses? Kroni?) _________________ Kurzweil K2500 (stolen), Korg Z1 18-voice (stolen), Yamaha P250, Novation Nova, Korg Wavedrum, Korg Kronos 61 (it's here!), as many free VST's as I can find |

At the demo on Wednesday said he brought the K61 with him because of its easy air transportation.
He also said there'd been an x-stand failure at one of the demos, one of those sickening moments where your baby has gone noisly crashing to the floor- and that the K was OK! In fact, it was the same K he used for the demo. _________________ Keyboards: Kawai ES920 / Casio CT-X5000

Jimmy D was my favorite when I was young. I never missed a show on the boob tube. Sadly at that age I never truly understood his humor. Man was he blue.
I suspected it was a transportation thing with the K61. Nice to hear it can withstand a fall! I wish there would be some more k88 demos! Also it sure doesn't seem that the pianos are hindered by a semi weighted board one little bit! |

There is no plural to Kronos - one is all you get.

Why dont they state on the back of the unit that its made in both Japan and USA?? Or is this just a reference to the manufacturing plant and not the technology design part. Either way, its both a USA and Japan designed system.
Yeah, that's true, definately he will have 48 Kroni to sit beside his 48 Oasyssesses. And a few dozen V Pianos.
Thats interesting regarding the serial number. Its only a five digit serial number. So are they only expecting to sell 99,999 units? What happens if they sell 100,000? They will need an extra number in the serial tag
I should check my Oasys serial number tonight and see how many digits they have there. I wonder if its only four digits??
Another thing i notice is the power switch is not similar to the Oasys big red power switch which makes a big 'thud' noise when you power on/off the unit. That switch looks similar to the one on my V synth GT, nice an quiet when you switch it on and off.

I don't think I've ever seen a back-panel design credit for a piece of electronic gear. That "Made in ..." pretty much always refers to the country in which that physical item was manufactured.
Usually, when a company feels the need to trumpet a device's place of design, they put that information right out front, where it's nice and visible. |

1. Then I think they will easily redesign the black plate from the profit. Or:
2. They will retire (= no need to work anymore) and give the last special one without serial number for free.
Seriously, I don't think they will sell that much, unfortunately. I wish they could - it would be good for musicians, good for listeners and good for the company. _________________ AkosJanca.com | Facebook | YouTube | SoundCloud | FuturePlant || OASYS-demos | nanoROCK demo | Korg Band in the Garage demo | Kronos Demo 1 | Kronos Demo 2 |
