Without Phantom Power, it's just a Mic INPUT, not a Mic Pre and you can switch the signal to make it a Mic Input or Line Input.

Sorry Sina, but this is simply wrong. Whilst most mic preamps do offer phantom power, what defines them as preamps is that they pre-amplify audio signals.

It *is* possible top have phantom power on a TRS socket, it's just not advisable as the small contact area leads to arcing and crackling of the 48v power feed when connecting and disconnecting or even when simply moving it. XLR connectors have a superior amount of both contact area and mechanical locking making them suitable for phantom power.
