|
|
I remember seeing a demo that showed that you can hold a chord and change the sound without cutting off the chord you're holding. My question is, does this also work if the chord you're holding is on an external keyboard (triggering a sound in the Kronos) rather than on the Kronos' own keyboard? Also, I wanted to confirm, this works regardless of whether you're physically holding the keys, or are just using the sustain pedal to hold the chord? |

I seem to remember Dan or Rich saying that you get seamless patch transitions all the time, even when going from Program to Combi mode and vice versa.
Let them correct me if I don't remember correctly! |

Yeah, I'm pretty certain that it has since been confirmed that Smooth Sound Transitions (SST) work in any mode. It is purely a coincidence (although a confusing one) that Set List Mode has always been used to demonstrate the feature.
Quoted from the promotional material:
Quote: | Smooth Sound Transition eliminates dropouts when changing sounds
Kronos features our new Smooth Sound Transition technology. This powerful new addition is designed to maintain any currently held, played, or sustaining notes (with their effects), helping to prevent drop-outs from occurring when you switch sounds or change from Program mode to Combi mode. A high level of technology has been applied to finally bring this sought-after ability to reality, fulfilling the requests of many musicians. |

Well, that doesn't seem to be the case. |

Yeah, I think the others are correct and I've never seen that in writing anywhere. _________________ Korg Kronos 61 (2); Kurzweil PC4; Casio Privia PX-350m; Macbook Pro |

Smooth Sound Transitions can happen in any performance mode (Program, Combi, Sequence). It just so happens that the slots in a Set List can access any of these three modes, so it's a convenient place to demonstrate the trantitions.
Hope this helps,
