I just came back from the local Korg Dealer. He spoke today with the Field Sales from Korg. He can't give a price right now, but the Kronos 61 will be available end of June. But: Not all the Korg Dealers will get some. The first batch will be sold by some picked dealers. My Dealer ist one of them

That means that the biggest European reseller doesn't get ANY from the - obviously in sharp contrast to the US - MUCH too small first bunch?
What a mess of mismanagement, if that should be true!
Korg is constantly sinking in my respect scala. |

Korg is constantly sinking in my respect scala. | I'm out of the game. I initially considered replacing my current studio gear with a Kronos, but have found a VSTi based solution [in combination with my M3-88] that works well for me. If Korg would have announced prices earlier, I wouldn't have looked for alternatives. _________________ www.soundcloud.com/orpheus2006

Similar feedback from half a dozen people here meanhwile.
Common tendency among them:
- a Nord Stage2 or a Kurz for live play (or justing keeping other old boards)
- powerful VSTis for the home studio
Problem solved. |

i guess that some of this situation is related also to japan disaster and problem they may have farms and/or materials...
anyway, think that who need quickly a "replacement" for kronos have lots of alternatives out there, but who is really interested in kronos for what it should do (i really will try it deeply before evaluating selling M3 for kronos) may wait some more months... |

I have spoken to Thomann as well. Since they could not give me definite answer on time or price I just ordered a Nord Stage 2. |

Funny, your "solution" is exactly what I'm happily getting away from by having the Kronos. But, hey, it's a very personal thing and everyone has to make the correct and timely decision for themselves. There are plenty of instruments with which to make music. _________________ Kronos 61, Kronos2-88, Hammond B3, Baldwin SD-10 |

Same here, Zeroesque, no question: IF Korg behaved like a company you can take serious over here. But here they seem to prefer behaving like a thirdclass backyard company you should not have too much trust into.
So I rather get by with the named (easily possible) alternatives, than accepting more of this childish Korg game in Europe any longer. And it seems I'm not the only one, from the feedback I hear. |

I guess many would have pre-ordered a Kronos if fair prices would have been announced earlier. Now, since early adapters start reporting quality issues, even if these seem to be minor issues, Korg will loose market share in Europe.
It's not only a pricing issue anymore. As jimknopf stated, there are many alternatives to the Kronos, especially for studio/homestudio musicians. _________________ www.soundcloud.com/orpheus2006

Has anyone seen better prices in Europe than
K-61 2999
K-73 3399
K-88 3699
This is still 600-700 above the import-from-US-price. _________________ www.soundcloud.com/orpheus2006

Nope, these are the price in france too. Korg dealer in France says that if you order a kronos in the US now, you'll have to wait for 6 month to get it since all pre orders before yours have to be filled. Don't know if it's true or not, i guess yes |

They would say that wouldn't they - tell them you are prepared to wait and save 700.... I wonder if they are prepared to wait too.. |
