At long last Korg have confirmed that they will be loaning a Kronos to Bonners Music Superstore in Eastbourne for the weekend of 18th & 19th June.

I am Bonners' main 'keyboard man' and have been playing Korg synths since 1989 (when I got my first M1). I will be giving a number of short "overview" presentations throughout the day, and there will be ample time for you to get some "hands on" time with this amazing instrument.

More information on this event can be found here:

http://www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/info/Korg_Kronos

Call 01323 636140 to book register your place on one of the two demo days.

Also, prices on the Bonners site are now confirmed.

Tony, I have pre-ordered the K88 with you and would like to have come to one of your demo days. However, Cornwall to Eastborne is just a little too far!

Tony, which model are you getting on loan? I'm interested to try the feel of the keybed on a 73 or 88 to see how closely it compares to my current M3-88.

Are you going to video it Tony? If so, can you pleeease take the line out feed to the camera - just a bit better than the camera mic.
Then upload it!! Laughing

It's most likely that Korg will be supplying a KRONOS 61. From what I understand, the 73 & 88 will not be landing in the UK until late July/August.

I believe the Kronos 73 & 88 models have the same keyboard action as the Korg SV1, so we could always MIDI up one of these to the KRONOS 61 if you want to get a 'feel' for the larger models.

With regard to video of the demonstration, I'll see what I can do..........

lol - proposed release date is around my Wedding Anniversary: however I've decided this is a bad idea for 2 reasons -

1. Beforehand, all I'll be thinking about is collecting my Kronos
2. Afterwards, all I'll be thinking about is playing my Kronos.

(and yes, I've got a fantastically supportive & great Wife!) Cool

She'd be more interested in the money from flogging a set of active monitors Wink

Does it mean that you will get 61 note kronos at the time of the demo?

There won't be KRONOS instruments available to take away at the demo, but there will be the opportunity to pre-order.

I suspect that the 61 will be available slightly before the 73 & 88, but that is only humble speculation on my behalf..................

For people who would like to attend the demo, I think it's worth mentioning that Eastbourne may sound a million miles away for many people, but there is a direct train from London Victoria every half hour on Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays.

The train journey from London is 90 minutes, and Bonners is located 5 mins walk from the station.

Well worth making the effort for some hands-on time with a KRONOS!

Smile

Good point Tony, but for me - the price isn't a real issue (about £50-odd): it's the fact that I'd be spending 8 hours on a train Sad

But I'm sure for people closer, that will be a good option Smile
