About the touch display, I had the same issues on iPhone where I had problems getting buttons on display to react to my touch, but I think it is something we have to get used to. Once you know the touch display, you will get the hang of it in time. At least that is what I believe.
I you must be very fond of EP's. To me the MOD7 is most interesting, you didn't show much from MOD-7. Hope to hear more reviews from you, because this was good. |
robinkle, thanks for taking the time watch the review. It turned out to be much longer than I was planning on. There's just so much to go over in the Kronos. I spent 3-4 hours going through this beast and I still wasn't able to go through even half of the sound pallet of Kronos.
Regarding Rhodes, I guess it was a couple of things. Rhodes plays a big part on the genre of music I play. Also, I believe there was a HUGE improvement on the Kronos Rhodes from the M3's Rhodes. I heard a couple of the MOD-7 programs and I thought they sounded very good. |
I understand. I think you never get enaugh time with a Kronos no matter how much time you have. I wonder if I ever get to explore this unit 100%.
There are alot of EP lovers out there so you didn't waste your time on it. |
Thanks, robinkle! Honestly, after I left the Kronos, I felt dazed because there was so much to review and there was so much more that I wanted to get into.
I was hoping I didn't waste my time. |

I use the eraser end of a pencil to edit the screen on my M3 module. Probably better than using your fingernails on the screen of your Kronos.
By the way, I just checked the Kronos Support Page at www.korg.com today. The quick start, operation and parameters pdf manuals for the Kronos have been posted and are ready to be downloaded. |

Ummm....you didn't even touch the data wheel in your build quality review. What's up with that? Especially when more reports are coming in about the wheel popping out. _________________ Tool box: Kronos 61, Fantom FA06, ASR-10, MPCX, MPC Live, and MPC 4000. |

Cool video review.
What was that annoying beep that kept going off every 30 seconds or so? |

Funny you mention the beep, I thought it was one of my smoke detectors up stairs needing a battery. _________________ Lou |

That's actually not me. I think it was a security device on one of the drum machines. |

jahrome, actually I did talk about it, but the person who was helping me record the video at GC did not hit record because I don't have that footage.
I did test it out and it was working fine. I pulled on it a little bit and it didn't pop off. |

Nice reviews! Thanks!
Would have liked to have seen you spent a bit more time with the CX-3 though! |

Hmm...I do have quite a bit of gear, but I don't even post most of it on the internet (at least for now until there's a need to).
To my knowledge, I've only posted YouTube videos of my SoundSlate, Motif, & iPad (if you want to consider that as musical gear). |

i have had my Kronos for one week. i have posted some complaints about the touchscreen. i think my problem is that i am used to my iPad. im spoiled. I agree that the edit boxes are very small and you have to REALLY aim your fingertip....but REALLY when you get right down to it, ITS INFINATELY BETTER THAN USING SCROLL BUTTONS AND ENTER BUTTONS TO FIND THE PARAMETER YOUR LOOKING FOR!!!!! so the Touchscreen is a WELCOME ADDITION TO THIS MASTERPIECE OF SYNTHESIS! the more i use it the more i am not only impressed but OVERWHELMED. the synths are SERIOUSLY JUICY! youd have to buy a MOOG or PROPHET 08 to beat it. and just BARELY! the sound CUTS. I use Logic Audio and LOVE the Rhodes on the EV88. BUT THE RHODES AND WURLIES ON THE KRONOS ARE SO DELIGHTFUL. The Pianos are damn good. Honestly theres some GREAT PIANOS that IN A MIX would sound just as good. but the DAMPER RESONANCE is TRULY superior. i am guessing the Kronos 88 will have that S90es Balance. I LOVE my S90(till i sold it).
YOUR REVIEW WAS WELL DONE! |

Personally, I prefer buttons, but there are definite advantages to using the touch screen. I would've liked for there not to be some check boxes and fields that small.
The Kronos does sounds very good indeed.
Thanks for taking the time to watch my YouTube reviews! |
