This may have been posted before, but I just got done watching some great videos on the MS-20 and it's helped me get a good understanding of how it works. There are 3 videos on the control panel and 2 on the patch panel. Enjoy!

I watched those last week and they are very insightful, mostly about the patch panel. At first I thought it was like patching in a modular synth (like Virtual Patch in the Radias), but the patch are more like special wiring to extend the possibilites of the synth.

You're right that they're different, but it's more the other way around: the RADIAS's Virtual Patch feature is like AMS on the KRONOS and OASYS, or like what some on synths is called a "mod matrix." For instance, it lets you route an envelope to LFO frequency, or a slider to filter cutoff. The MS-20's patch panel is like a modular synth; you can change the routing of the audio signals, use audio signals as modulators, etc.

Here it is on YouTube if you're following on an iDevice...

I went through these videos about a month ago, great introduction. If you have an iPad, getting the iMS-20 is a good way to play with what you learn from these videos while waiting on your Kronos 88...like me...grin...
