The reference that madbeatzyo111 included (2 posts above) is of particular interest as it shows a lot of things that were tried and some workaround logic. This is a must-read.

hi, just picking up this thread searching for other korgist with M3's screen problem...

my touchscreen has stopped working yesterday. i contacted kyocera asking for suitable receplacement but they say they did not sell this part to Korg...

anyone can help on finding a suitable replacement for the touchscreen?
it seems that original part from korg are out of stock and my local authorized center just say to send them the M3 so they can have a look... i fell they do not know what to do and will keep M3 for months...

From my knowledge of getting mine replaced, that is correct. Those are not the part anymore. Its now a newer, MUCH cheaper part, which just came in stock to Korg a couple of weeks ago. They go for about $75, and May be made by Samsung I believe. I would call Korg headquarters, they would be able to tell you (as they now ship them to Korg authorized repair shops). Your local repair guy, doesn't seem to be very resourceful, so just go directly to Korg

a couple of good news from my side:

- first i finally been able to speak with an authorized technician, he made a check and say they have both the touchscreen surface and the LCD in their stock, so in case i just send them the M3 for repairing

- secondly, most important, i have read on karma-lab forum of a russian guy that had solved the problem heating the screen with a hair-dryer. so i try too this morning. at the beginning nothing change, but after a while step by step the touchscreen comes to life. initially just in the middle and then everywhere. i have been able to do calibration again and now seems to work. i will check if this solution last just for some hours (and hence the gel or film in the touchscreen is ruined) or if in the next days still keep on working!

Kimu -

Curious: Did your touchscreen repair using hair dryer fix your problem permanently?

well, unfortunately it did not work permanently.
after a couple of days the touchscreen stopped working again and the "hair-dryer" technique was no more helpful in solving the bug... probably the gel was completely gone.

two weeks ago i sent my M3 to korg repair center, but no news so far.

Hello,

Recently my upper right hand corner of my touchscreen has also become unresponsive and appears that other areas of the screen are out of calibration.

I've had my M3 since spring 2009 and it's been a great workstation... until the last month or so.

I found this thread and hopefully I can fix this quickly and cheaply. I will attempt to calibrate though I fear I'm experiencing the same issues with the conductive substrate layer of the touchscreen and the LCD malfunctioning.

One would think Korg would have used a much better touchscreen in their product considering the price tag. It's bad enough the LCD resolution is as horrible as it is. SMH.

The touch screen on my Korg M3 also stopped working. The Touch panel Calibration settings also does not work. The touch on the extreme left top corner works but not the other diagonal opposite site. Probably because i hardly touch on that top corner. The life of M3 touchscreen is way too short. After reading this post i think i will have to take this to local dealer and try my luck
