Nice setup -- compact, clean, ready to go.
As soon as our Kronoi start rolling in, we should definitely have a stickie for pics of our setups... _________________ Korg gear: Kronos 73.

RC-IA,
What is your opinion on the build quality of the Kronos compared to the Oasys?
I've read some disturbing posts about knobs, faders and keys not being top notch. (Having said that, I've had problems with buttons on the Oasys..)
Thanks. _________________ Paul: Don't be nervous.

i don't think kronos is a cheap build keyboard. My data wheel is coming a little too easy but it's working great for now, and korg already solved the problem, i ask for a new one. i think this two thing are quiet different:
Build quality
First batch problems
i think the build will be good
i think the first batch have some problems (data wheel, minor problem, really minor..) and the keyboard (rattling) problem: not minor. mine is moving and rattling (2 lowers octaves). i guess is really not difficult to fix this, i waiting for answers on this from korg |

I am always interested in the studio furniture/stands/equipment people use to arrange their gear.
I have a few questions:
1) Speaker stands -- are those custom? How are they mounted to the table?
2) Mac -- is that an iMac somhow mounted to the wall?
3) Rack Unit below Mac -- how did you get that slanted like that?
4) Machine stand -- what type of stand is that? Is is sitting on feet?
5) Monitor on left -- is that wall mounted? Is that a second computer screen associate with the Mac on the right?
6) Spectralis rack -- what type of rack stand is that?
7) Desk -- is that a custom L-shaped desk? Is your Mac keyboard/mouse on a sliding shelf?
8 ) Audio/midi connections -- You have a lot of gear (two keyboards, some rack synths, etc.). How do you have all of these connected, primarily through your MOTU 828?
THanks. _________________ ** KORG Product Support Contacts **

Thanks for your answers RC-IA.
Would you say that the angle of the display on the Kronos is the same as the display of the Oasys when it's all the way down?
Thanks. _________________ Paul: Don't be nervous.

1/ yes custom ones, they are screwed on the table, i can make more pictures of it if you want
2/ yes imac, mounted on a home made wood panel. If want i can go and mount the entire home studio anywhere else, nothing is screwed directly on the wall
3/ it's the same that the other one with the spectralis but i just cut it since it was 8u rack height and i just wanted 2, link:
http://fr.euroguitar.com/accessoires-studio/stagg/stand-rack-198u-de-table/128507.html
4/ this an ikea notebook tablet that i modified using 4 metal feet i fixed on it, 2 of them are smaller to have maschine inclined, link:
http://www.ikea.com/fr/fr/catalog/products/60150176
5/not wall mounted, same than imac. It's iiyama 19" touch screen, it's connected to the imac with the mac os desktop extanded, i can send my vst windows on it it control them while playing on the virus ti
6/ same as 3/ but did not modify it
7/ yes custom made L desk, yes for the keyboard and mouse, same for the origin
8/ motu 828 has just enough ins for all my gear ( audio). Midi is handled via USB, except for the spectralis which connected to the virus
Thanx for you interest |
