Oh great, there's an empty memory slot to extend the RAM Smile Let's hope the CPU supports 4 gig of RAM and Korg will allow support of it

This appears to be the specs for the MOBO and CPU.

Korg should allow RAM expansion at a certified Korg service station.

It's a PCI slot for computer cards supporting this type of slots. Network cards Raid cards and so on. Probably not supported by the Korg modified OS.

Thought it was a PCI slot - was more intrigued about how/if Korg was to use it......

It's a PCI Express slot (1x, most likely). Probably will be left unused, unless Korg would allow nVidia/AMD graphics cards to run Kronos graphics (but there doesn't seem to be enough room for that). LaughingLaughingLaughing

Let's hope Korg will take the advantage of the slot, and add even more features to come. Smile

Nah, they most likely won't. I can't see any benefit in doing that. The most you could get is 4 GB of RAM and that's it.

Very interesting, i noticed a VGA port on the mobo as well, wonder if one could hook an external monitor up to it....hrmmm.

Edit: Read a little further into the blog, he states the VGA port is NOT used for video output. Means Kronos uses some other proprietary video controller than is probably linked to the motherboard via usb. So if one WERE to plop a video card into the Kronos PCI slot, it would either not work, or it would cause the main display to not work. Hard to say but interesting nonetheless.

we're all thinking along the same lines (Kronos video output, anyone?)

Besides, I hate to see empty/unused slots Laughing

Perhaps you could reload it with windows 98 and install the OASYS PCI card Laughing

Nice to finally see what's under the hood anyway.
