It only retains it's value when I keep it pushed down. As soon as I release pressure; it'll go back to for example, 25/127

Anyone else have this problem? How do you fix it? It's kind of ruined for me at the moment...

I'm having the exact same problem.. i bought mine new a lil over a year ago the red one. Really made me angry, I haven't even put it through much use and those encoders feel so weak on a $500 synth they know ppl will abuse the hell out of.

Having the exact same problem here, yo! Evil or Very Mad

Also the tempo encoder, now when I twist it, it adjust the first encoder on the left. Cheap plastic garbage. So bummed.

The part I needed wasn't on that page but thanks for the link. I ordered the pots from Parts is parts. www.guitar-parts.com

He said
VR 1,3,4,5

I think that means the tempo and the 3 edit knobs. (1,3,4,5 respectively)

are this part for anyone else that reads this.
http://www.guitar-parts.com/catalog/korg-pot-microkorgxl-360520025

VR2 which I think is the volume trim

is this one
http://www.guitar-parts.com/catalog/korg-rotary-pot-510360520031

It's tough because if you search "Microkorg XL" you find the volume trim and if you search "MicrokorgXL" all one word you find the edit pots. So annoying but it took me all day to figure this out so I figured I'd let the world know.

I'll report back if I fix it.

Having the exact problem. I think I dropped it on that knob. Were you able to fix it without removing the pot?

Yes, it was a major headache to do it. I'm terrible at solder. But it was working fine for a long time and now its starting to act up again. I'm thinking there is a bad connection with the solder.

jeez, i finally got a moment. took a few hours. all that was needed was a phillips screwdriver, soldering iron, de-soldering braid and flux for the braid. ugh, i could not get the old solder out without the braid, and i kept trying to just use that until i finally realized i needed flux on the braid, then the old solder came out great.

all back together and all functions seem to work, well all that i could test. took maybe 3-4 hours.
