As some know, I have worked at a program which can read a complete PCG and generate the following lists:
- show a list of what programs are used by which combis/set list slots
- sorting programs alphabetically
- sorting combis alphabetically
- sorting set lists alphabetically
I can output in both text or CSV (comma separated) and filter empty slots and filter on banks and even on words inside the patch. CSV files can be read by e.g. Excel.
Examples:
- Show all programs used by combis from bank U-B and U-E in text format
- Show all combis from bank I-A to I-G which are not empty and have the word 'Piano' inside in CSV format.
Application only works on a Windows PC.
If you have additions you would like I can consider them.
Anbody interested can have the application and/or source code (written in C#). _________________

I would like to test that thing and also come up with some suggestions,
anyways i am still in testing stage of the synth itself too.
But i dont understand one thing, how can a PC program be used with the
KRONOS YES since the Editor is still not out. _________________ http://www.basaristudios.com

You have to save the complete PCG as a file and the program reads this PCG file and gets all the data out of it.
Actually it could be done by MIDI too, but that takes a more time to program (not going to do that). Of course it would be possible to write a self made editor, but I hope Korg will do its job well. _________________

I need an email address to send it (I have asked Sharp if it would be possible to upload it but I did not get an answer; besides there is no Kronos download section yet). _________________

I'm sure Sharp will be putting up a Kronos section soon. In the meantime, I'd like a copy as well. If it's still available, I'll send you a PM.

I just send the app to everyone, but one failed (wrote him a mail about it). If you didn't receive any mail, please respond. And of course anyone with ideas, improvements or someone who like to take it over (since I do not want to spend too much time on it for now). _________________

Does this work with 64 bit Windows 7? Reason I ask is that I tried to 'generate list' on a couple of PCG programs and received an error message stating the program had stopped. _________________ Rhodes 73 Mk1; Kronos 88; Synthex; Electribe EMX-1; Motif XS Rack; Yamaha DX7IIFD; Yamaha MM8; Roland Alpha Juno-2; Roland JV-2080; Tascam FW-1884. |

I only tested in on a Windows 7, 64 bit system.
Can you try DEFAULT.pcg (the one that comes with the Kronos)?
Then make a complete PCG yourself and check if the sizes are the same. It should be something like 33 MB or so. _________________

Sorry, but cannot test it as you ask - I'm still awaiting delivery of my K88.
I was using various PCG files submitted via this forum
Bushkeys.PCG
MOD7EXT1.PCG
etc
After selecting the PCG file and pressing 'Generate List' I get the next window. It's at this point that the PCG Tools program stops, after pressing 'Generate'. It may be that I am not using the selections correctly, so some further instructions may be helpful. _________________ Rhodes 73 Mk1; Kronos 88; Synthex; Electribe EMX-1; Motif XS Rack; Yamaha DX7IIFD; Yamaha MM8; Roland Alpha Juno-2; Roland JV-2080; Tascam FW-1884. |

And I've implemented complete view function for Kronos pcg files in Aldan Librarian. You can try and even in demo mode you should be able to open pcg, select program or combination and send its dump to synthesizer via usb for audition. _________________ Developer of Aldan III for Korg M50, KROME.
Please find the app at :

@Panrixx: you can try the PCGs again ... the new app should support it.
I haven't tried it myself (where can they be found?) _________________
